Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon is the largest city in Vietnam. With French colonial buildings, bustling markets, designer shops, incense-scented pagodas and stalls selling fragrant noodle soup, this city hosts traditional and modern elements. We recommend spending three nights here to allow enough time to see all the key attractions, just a short flight to Danang and a 30 minute road transfer will then take you to the enchanting ancient town of Hoi An, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The narrow streets are lined with colourful lanterns which light up at night and tailor shops offering made to measure suits and dresses at unbelievable prices.

Trip Highlights

- Purchase your local handicrafts and souvenirs from Ben Thanh Market

Destination One - Ho Chi Minh City
Spend several days exploring the many sights, sounds and smells of this energetic metropolis, including Notre Dame Cathedral, Ben Thanh Market and the War Remnants Museum.
With the fast pace of life in this city we recommend you stop at one of the numerous Vietnamese coffee shops around the city to sample a Vietnamese iced coffee, pull up a seat outside on the street and take a moment to appreciate everything around you.
Don’t forget to venture outside the city as well and explore the famous Cu Chi Tunnels and the fascinating Mekong Delta..
Destination Two - Hoi An
The beautiful and incredibly charming town of Hoi An is situated just south of Danang in central Vietnam.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Old Town is characterised with winding lanes and wonderful Chinese-style architecture dating back to the 15th century.
Hoi An has many tailor shops, great for made-to-measure clothing. In the evening, the town comes alive with hundreds of colourful lanterns lighting up the streets and the Thu Bon river.
We recommend spending around four nights here to really soak up the beauty and character of the area. If you also want to make the most of the nearby beaches you could easily base yourself here for a week.
