Gili Islands Holidays

A holiday in the Gili Islands provides you with many opportunities to relax and unwind. Whether you wish to rest on white, sandy beaches, dive into an underwater paradise or cycle around beautiful islands, you are sure to find something you love here.

Tucked away off the north-west coast of Lombok, you will find three small paradise islands: Gili Air, Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno make up the stunning “Gilis”, where you can immerse yourself in a Bohemian, rustic island atmosphere. Characterised by their famous golden beaches, you can enjoy some precious down time and indulge in authentic island life during your stay.

Take a Gili islands tour or create your own adventure as you cycle around the islands admiring their exquisite natural beauty. Take in the sounds of the Indonesian jungle and the reggae vibe before relaxing with a cocktail and enjoying the mesmerising sunset on the beach.

Gilis: the paradise islands

Combine your Gili Islands holiday with a trip to Lombok or Bali, or stay local and explore all three Gili Islands. Gili Meno is the ideal choice if you’re seeking peace and serenity, in Robinson Crusoe style. Snorkel and dive away from the tourist trail and pick up some tips on Gili culture from local islanders. Be sure to keep an eye out for the local hawksbill and green sea turtles.

If you wish to dance the night away and then sleep all day on coral sands then we recommend that you head to Gili Trawangan, or Gili T, as it is affectionally known. The beach is the perfect spot to sip a cocktail as the sun goes down.

Gili Air is a superb choice if you are seeking the best of both worlds - tranquility and fun. You’ll find local culture, beach parties, underwater excitement and secluded paradise beaches, all in one place. Browse our selection of luxury Gili Islands accommodation to find your ideal hotel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Gili Island beaches are renowned for their beauty, swaying coconut palms, and spectacular sunsets. Gili Meno beaches have a romantic and remote feel while Gili Air has both lively and serene beaches. Gili Trawangan beaches are generally more developed with bars, surf schools, and beach parties. Due to the abundance of coral around the Gili Islands some beaches may be a little sharp so a pair of sea shoes is recommended.

The quickest way to get to the Gili Islands is from Lombok with a fast boat service operating from Teluk Kodek harbour to Gili Trawangan and Gili Air, taking around 15 minutes. You can also get a fast boat to the Gili Islands from Bali which takes around two hours. The fast boat departs from both Serangan harbour in Bali (most convenient for the beach resorts on the south of the island) and from Padang Bai harbour (most convenient for the resorts of Ubud and Candidasa).
