Komodo National Park is not to be missed during your bespoke Bali holiday. Located between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores sits Komodo National Park - a fascinating and diverse island filled with rare wildlife and green terrains. Trek up Rinca and Komodo islands, find rare Jurassic creatures and go swimming alongside incredibly rich marine life.
Witness the bright and colourful sea life as you glide through the transparent waters during your Komodo National Park holiday. You’ll find over 250 species of coral and 1,000 vibrant species of fish, plus there’s whales, dolphins, sea turtles and manta rays to observe in one of the world’s best diving and snorkelling spots. Go for a swim or dive off the shore of beautiful Kanawa Island, which is just a boat ride away. If you’re feeling adventurous then why not trek through Komodo National Park’s diverse terrain? You’ll find tropical rainforests, grass woodlands and mountainous hillsides.
Komodo National Park holidays offer one-of-a-kind attractions
Holidays in Komodo National Park are perfect if you are seeking untouched natural wonders and pristine beaches. What’s more, you can find rare animals found nowhere else in the world. The star of the park is the iconic Komodo Dragon, the biggest lizard in the world and you have the opportunity to enjoy a close encounter with these wild reptiles. A short boat ride to Rinca Island takes you to landscapes where wild Komodo dragons roam freely in their natural habitat. These are huge creatures - they are around 3 metres long and weigh over 300lbs - and they don’t exist anywhere else in the world. Be sure to catch a glimpse before you leave: we recommend you reach the island either in the early morning or just before sunset, when the dragons tend to move around more as they search for food.
For a picture-perfect day in the sun, look no further than your bespoke holiday in Komodo National Park. Visit one of its most charming sights, Pink Beach. This pink-coloured beach is just one of seven of its kind in the world, and the beach offers views like no other, with its turquoise waters, pink glowing sand and surrounding vibrant green hills.
Catch a glimpse of the locals’ traditional life at Mesa Island, which is home to the indigenous Bajau community and has a population of just 1,500 people. Stroll past traditional stilt houses on the sand and smile at the friendly locals and children who love running up to welcome island guests.
Why not make the most of your Komodo National Park trip and see what else Indonesia has to offer? A domestic flight from Labuan Bajo (Komodo Airport) will take you to Bali in just one hour. Here you’ll find forested mountains, beautiful coral reefs and a thriving nightlife. Round off your holiday by exploring Sanur and Nusa Dua, the popular resort towns to the north of Bali. You could also head to Ubud where you can enjoy a yoga class at one of the best yoga retreats in the world. Alternatively, island hop to Flores to catch a striking sunrise and unforgettable views over the multi-coloured Kelimutu Volcano.
