The setting of the Governors’ Camp is so exceptional that when it opened it was reserved exclusively for Kenya’s colonial governors.

Nestled among trees on the banks of the Mara River, the camp is in a prime position to view bird life, hippos and crocodiles. Offering an authentic safari experience, the canvas tents are luxuriously furnished with en suite facilities and private verandahs. From July to October the camp is the perfect place to experience the magnificent wildebeest migration.

The luxury tents at Governors’ Camp, as you can imagine, are unique, spectacular and will leave you with just two words on your lips to describe your experience in the Masai Mara – SIMPLY AMAZING. Each tent has either one king bed or two twin beds, a large private bathroom and an extended verandah with uninterrupted views over the Mara River or across the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara. The entire camp is under canvas and is still considered to be the best in Africa.
