“There is so much to see and do in Florian, and getting around is so easy. Hire a car and add a few extra USA states to your Florida holiday. It would be a shame to visit only one side of this fantastic state.”

“For some of the best shopping in Florida be sure to visit Sawgrass MIlls. Just make sure you give yourself enough time – the mall is massive. If you only have a short time to shop then I would recommend planning your visit beforehand. “

Local Cuisine

Get a flavour of the local culture through your palate during your Florida holiday. Here are a few of our favourite foodie dishes.

  • Key Lime Pie

If you visit Florida Keys, you’ll find Key Lime pie everywhere, which is made with a crumb crust and has a smooth and zesty lime filling, before being topped with delicious and sweet meringue. It is the zingy Key limes that make all the difference to this flavoursome dessert.

  • Cuban Sandwich

One of the world’s most famous sandwiches, the Cuban sandwich consists of fresh Cuban bread filled with roasted pork, sliced ham, melted Swiss cheese, mustard and pickles. It is served toasted.

  • Florida Stone Crab

The best time to enjoy a dish of delicious stone crab in Florida is between October and May, when they’re caught fresh off the Atlantic Coast. Unlike other types of crab, stone crab is cooked, cracked, and served up alongside mustard sauce. The best place to find this delicious dish is from seafood shacks along the coast.

  • Florida Orange Juice

Florida’s enjoys a long growing season and so it boasts a bounty of fresh tropical fruits and vegetables. One of the most iconic is, of course, the orange. Orange juice is a favourite across the state. While there’s nothing more refreshing than a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, it also makes its way into many Floridian sauces, marinades and sweet confections.
