Toronto
Toronto is Canada’s best known city and it offers a mix of culture, looming skyscrapers and natural beauty. With a buzzy and charming atmosphere, it’s easy to get caught up in Toronto, and most visitors end up wishing they booked to stay longer in this cosmopolitan hub.
With plenty of shopping opportunities and trendy galleries, there’s lots to keep you busy in Toronto. The city is also home to over 7,000 bars, restaurants and cafés so you won’t have to venture far for some delicious fare. You must try local poutine, Canada’s national dish. Poutine consists of French fries and cheese curds, heaped with a generous amount of gravy. While it may sound simple, this is comfort food at its best.
Don’t miss a visit up the CN tower which dominates Toronto’s skyline. From there you can enjoy panoramic views of the city below. Away from the city streets, you’ll discover leafy parks and pretty lakes that provide the ideal backdrop for a pleasant walk.
Niagara Falls
From the city lights of Toronto, you’ll travel to the natural wonder of the world, Niagara Falls. It’s difficult not to be mesmerised by the sheer scale and volume of the waterfall, with its flowing water thundering down.
There are several ways to visit Niagara Falls and you can choose depending on your tastes. Get up close and personal with a boat trip to the foot of the falls, but remember to bring a raincoat, as you’re bound to get soaked.
You can also take a short hike called the ‘Journey Behind the Falls’, which leads you behind the huge wall of water and offers you a unique perspective of the falls, or, to admire the spectacle from afar, embark on a helicopter flight. Up high in the sky, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the thundering falls below, offering a very special experience.
The region of Niagara isn’t just about the falls either. Head to the picturesque town of Niagara on the Lake to sample the fine wines which are grown in the region.
New York
Finish your multi-centre holiday on a high with a visit to the bright beaming lights and buzzing atmosphere of the iconic New York City.
Discover the famous city sights, including a trip up the dominating Empire State Building for sprawling views of the glittering New York City skyline below. Then immerse yourself into a world of dazzling neon lights and gigantic billboards at Times Square and Broadway.
For a slice of peace and sanctuary, no visit to the Big Apple would be complete without an amble through Central Park. The backdrop from many movies and television series, you’ll be amazed at how calm and tranquil the park feels despite its city centre location.
For an evening of indulgence and relaxation, why not book an evening dinner cruise to float the Hudson River? From the water, you can admire the city skyline from a different angle and can toast the perfect ending to a trip of a lifetime.
