Destination Executive

"My favourite place to spend an afternoon in Khao Lak is Memories Bar. It’s located just next to Apsara, and is open between September – April. It’s a lively spot with great food and lots of leisure activities such as volleyball, surfing – even Thai cooking classes. After the sun goes down, dancing and fire shows on the beach commence. Great fun – and all ages welcome."

Absolutely the best

Shanklin, United Kingdom

This is my 4th visit to Thailand and I must say this resort is stunning the best we have ever stayed in, we arrived very tired after the flight and we were checked in straight away to a swim up room. The room was lovely and very spacious with a terrace leading into the pool. On our second day we decided to spoil ourselves by upgrading to a pool villa and I must say they are truly wonderful. The villa is massive and very luxurious with a large pool that is really private. The water in the pool was very refreshing after a day out, the water was not cold at all it was a pleasure to get in to the water. What keeps bringing us back to Thailand is the people, and this hotel does not disappoint, the staff are so nice, kind and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them and you are welcomed with a genuine smile. The restaurants are great serving plenty of choice for everyone at every meal we were not disappointed with the quality of food being served. The bar has a huge cocktail list for the all inclusive option and another one for those on a different board basis, there is certainly plenty of choice. We went all inclusive with TUI and the options were great, the bar is open for all inclusive until 11 pm and as this is a relaxing resort this is all you really need, if you want a later drink you can purchase more or take a very short walk to the local bars and restaurants where you can drink later if you wish. The beach is stunning and you can walk miles if you wish along golden sand surrounded on the edge by coconut trees. About a 10 minute walk there are local bars and restaurants serving fantastic food and drinks and I would highly recommend a visit for lunch or an evening meal, no matter what board basis you have please support the local restaurants and you can eat out so cheaply, we ate out most days as we would have a massage next to Pakarsng restaurant and then lunch at Pakarang, the food is great and they do a fantastic laundry service for only 80b per kilo, you won’t be disappointed. I would urge potential visitors to this wonderful resort to pay no attention to some of the negative reviews on trip advisor, all inclusive in Thailand is different to somewhere like Benidorm or Mexico and if you booked with TUI then it’s really clear about what you get when you arrive and in my opinion there is so much on offer you really could not ask for more, but if you want more then you do of course need to pay for it. Thailand is the most wonderful place in the world, anyone visiting for the first time won’t be disappointed providing you embrace the culture and treat people with respect. If your looking for a place to have total relaxation then look no further as this hotel is perfect in every way for this and still in easy reach of local towns and markets and of course the fantastic national park. The TUI rep Susie is great she is always around to help if you need her and is a fountain of knowledge regarding the local area. She was even there to greet us when we arrived, and she had a great northern sense of humour. We are still at the resort at the moment and return home in two days, we will really miss this place and most of all miss the wonderful staff who have made the holiday. Thank you Apsara we hope to return again Pete & Warren

A little piece of Heaven, maybe for some.

Sheffield, United Kingdom

So we are here right now at the Aspara. Arrived 8am on the 10th, tired , long journey, 2 and a half hours to get through airport, another 2 hours on coach and you find your rooms aren't ready, their standard Check in is 2 pm so may be TUI should 're schedule their flights with better timings to coincide with this! Room , clean , comfortable nothing special. I did ask for a little room decoration on arrival , via email beforehand , as the trip was for my husband's 50th which was New Years Eve and also our 25th anniversary coming up this year. There was a saucer with 2 satsumas, 2 bananas and a few grapes! Not exactly what I was hoping for lol, hardly romantic! 😂 The hotel grounds and facilities are very well kept and clean and Staff are very friendly. The beach is beautiful and you can walk along way either way. Pool is quite small but adequate. Food is good, not fabulous and could sometimes do with being a little hotter. Even though we are All Inclusive you can't use certain bars , restaurants ( exception 2 freebies)etc. Certain drinks are out of bounds which I find strange as there is an All inclusive list to pick from, their are other cocktails on a different list which you aren't allowed even though they have the same alcohol that's in other ai drinks. Normal coffee is included but cappuccino etc aren't, I've never had this before on A I holidays. The idea of AI to me is just that, ALL inclusive! The hotel is very peaceful and relaxing which is great in the day but for us a little too quiet on an evening, hence taxis into the town costing around £15 a night return with drinks on top, so it's become a rather expensive holiday! It's very pretty on an evening all lit up but around 10 it's all in darkness even though the AI ends at 11pm! There is no atmosphere. We talk to other people and make conversation that's all there is to do. We have just come to Patong for 3 nights( booked on line) just to see a different side of Thailand. It's certainly different !!!🤗😍 I'm still on the fence with Thailand, quite mixed feelings. My hubby as wanted to come here for years and as it was a special birthday it was an obvious choice. A little disappointed , I did expect more. Not what I'm used to and not as good in my opinion for the rooms and All inclusive , I have had much better for much less money too.!
