Amazing place and relaxing holiday

Roermond, The Netherlands

Reethi Faru is an amazing place, brand new and beautiful. We stayed in a water villa on the sunset side and enjoyed the deck at all times of the day. Seeing turtles and eagle rays below in the water and spotting dolphins far out. Just amazing. I found the service very good and people there very friendly and helpful. For instance, the stairs to the water was slippery, so I asked for a brush to clean them, but instead the cleaning was done later that day. Just ask (instead of complain afterwards as some people do) and they will do their best to help you. Even the tourists say hello when we passed each other. A very nice atmosphere. The sand and beach is white and beautiful and the snorkelling very interesting with plenty to see. We saw octopus, shrimp, a stone fish, baby sharks (and a larger one but not the dangerous kind), turtles, rays and many colourful fish and large schools of fish. We went b&b and were happy about the choice as we could eat a la carte for lunch and dinner. We mostly ate at the Reethi grill, e.g. share a pizza for lunch and enjoy some of the many dishes for dinner. It was very tasty and good food, and my tip is to order the local dishes like curries with fish, chicken or vegetables. Delicious! If you have been at Reethi beach before like us, then mention it. We got a complimentary bottle of wine in the room, which was a nice gesture. If you love peace and quiet, water, beach, snorkelling and good food, go to Reethi Faru (or beach). Bring your positive attitude and you will have an amazing vacation 😎

Lovely new resort

Potchefstroom

We were a group of 5 family/friends visiting at the beginning of May. It was my 4th visit to the Maldives, previous resorts visited are Constance Moofushi, Reethi Beach, Gangehi. I was a bit worried about what our experience was going to be like because of negative points that were raised on tripadvisor forum. Our arrival and check-in was handled fast and efficient by the friendly Inasha. We were allocated garden villas 219 and 220 which have a extra room in the middle which was a lovely suprise. The accommodation had all the anemities we needed including waste bins in the room and bathroom (someone previously complained about this). We were 3 girls in the one room and they also provided a 3rd deck chair for outside veranda. We also received 3 bottles of water daily. And so started one of our best holidays ever. Yes the reef is bleached as happened all over the Maldives but you can see the reef starting to recover. We snorkelled mostly on the south east side (near Nala Bar, which was also where our beach loungers were) and on the northern side (near main restaurant) and the marine life was varied and plentiful. We saw turtles and mantas on the housereef which was amazing! We were on halfboard basis and it worked perfectly for us as we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and really enjoyed the buffets at night. Good variety and food was delicious. They also make a fabulous pina colada at the main bar. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. From the dive centre, the waiters, bar servers and reception and all queries were handled immediately. Our waiters in the main restaurant were super nice and professional. Name tags were added on our waiter's uniform while there, so they really implement suggestions and feedback from guests. We were never bitten by any mosquitos or other insects. Yes the island is big, we only occasionaly went to the west side and someplaces near the swimming pool and main restaurant the pathways are a bit difficult to walk on as the sand are not compacted. We had to leave early because of some issues with the domestic airline and Inasha arranged for us to use the lounge at the airport which was such a blessing. Reethi Faru really went out of their way for us in every way and we would really recommend this beatiful island. We will certainly visit again.
