With incredible natural beauty and some of the finest vineyards on earth, Chile wine holidays are your perfect escape from reality.
Situated within easy reach of the country’s capital, Santiago, Chile’s Central Valley can be enjoyed as a day trip. Alternatively, spend a few nights in one of the sumptuous wine hotels to discover all that the Chile wine regions have to offer.
Visit vast, sun-drenched vineyards on Chile wine region holidays
Colchagua Valley is a great starting point for your Chilean wine holiday as many of Chile’s finest red wines are made here in this sunny valley. Colchagua Valley offers some of the finest scenery in all of Chile, encompassing mountains, flatlands and coastal terrain in its huge expanse. Here, the vineyards stretch for miles and are bordered to the west by dramatic hillsides which line the country’s impressive pacific coastline. Make sure to take a tour of one of the vineyards to sample the region’s famous Cabernet Sauvignon.
At the Viña Casa Silva vineyard, you can step back in time and get a taste of Chilean winemaking history. One of the most picturesque wineries in the Colchagua Valley, Viña Casa Silva vineyard is dotted with pretty colonial architecture. Wine has been produced here for more than five generations. Catch a glimpse of the Chilean huasos (skilled horsemen) at work before heading to the restaurant for delicious traditional dishes served with local wine.
With its opulent chandeliers, pretty gardens and own private chapel, the Viña Santa Rita estate will provide you with a glimpse of how the region’s wealthy landowners used to live. Sample some of the estate’s fine wine before visiting Museo Andean (the Andean Museum) to see more than a thousand pieces of pre-Columbian era art. As the sun goes down over the fertile valleys, why not enjoy a gentle horseback ride? This is the perfect way to end the day in style beneath the glowing sunset.
