Start your Journey
Begin your Malaysia holidays with a stay in the diverse city of Kuala Lumpur. With so much to see and do, we recommend spending at least three days exploring this cosmopolitan city.
For incredible and clear views of the towering Petronas Towers both day and night, a stay at the Traders Hotel is a must. It can be found nestled in the centre of the city, making it an ideal base for sightseeing, shopping and eating out.
As you wander the city streets, you’ll find that the architecture is very varied. While Kuala Lumpur is one of Southeast Asia’s most modern cities, cutting edge buildings are found next to ancient temples and old colonial buildings, making a walking tour of the city a fascinating experience. You’ll also find a diverse range of shops here, from high end shopping malls full of designer labels to street markets selling handicrafts and antiques.
Penang is renowned as Malaysia’s food capital and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to sample local Nonya cuisine. This is a mouth watering fusion of Chinese and Malay cooking styles, and it can be found everywhere in the city from street food stalls to fine dining restaurants.
Penang is also famous for its heritage, vibrant night markets and beautiful beaches. Should you wish for a break from city sightseeing, head to the latter to enjoy some downtime under the warm rays of the sun.
A visit to the district of George Town is a must. Full of delicious dining opportunities, stunning temples, and colourful street art, get lost on the city streets and immerse yourself in all that the cultural gem has to offer.
We recommend spending at least four nights in Penang, and we bet you’ll want to stay longer.
Finish your Malaysia trip with an island getaway to the sandy shores of Langkawi. After lots of city sighting, what could be better than indulging in laid back beach days spent by the lapping ocean? One of the island’s most beautiful beaches is the white sand Datai Beach, which offers postcard perfect views of the pale sands and glittering sea.
Should you seek a dose of adventure, hop on board the cable car that will transport you to heights so you can fully embrace the natural beauty of the island. When you reach the top, you’ll step out onto the Sky Bridge which soars 708 metres above sea level.
Be warned though, this trip isn’t for the faint hearted. However, those don’t mind heights will be treated to sweeping views of the surrounding green forests and the sparkling crystalline ocean. On a clear sunny day, you should even be able to spot some of the Thai islands sitting in the distance.
