Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Reserve

Having been a family retreat for more than 40 years, Chitwa Chitwa was transformed into a private game lodge in 1991 yet it still retains a lovely homely atmosphere. The lodge takes its name – Chitwa Chitwa – from the ode of endearment to an aging giraffe bull who visited the house with such frequency that he was considered a member of the extended family.

Chitwa Chitwa is now a stylish and luxurious safari lodge with the most unique of settings, overlooking the largest perennial lake in the 63,000 hectare Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, part of the greater Kruger National Park.

Chitwa House and the ten stylish and spacious suites are individually decorated and offer ultimate seclusion, making them ideal for honeymooners and couples. However, Chitwa Chitwa is also one of the few luxury lodges in the Sabi Sands Reserve to accept children of all ages and the Charlsy Suite – consisting of two interlinking dwellings – is ideal for families.
