Maine Holidays
Holidays in Maine offer you the chance to immerse yourself in a land of wild unspoiled beauty in the largest and Northernmost state of New England. Enjoy the outdoor adventure at its very best by getting busy with plenty of adrenaline-inducing activities, including white-water rafting, cycling, kayaking and hiking.
There’s plenty of time to relax during your Maine holidays too. The state is renowned for its delicious seafood, so don’t forget to indulge in a lobster feast. Wash it down with plenty of local craft beer between all that outdoor activity.
The untamed beauty of Maine holidays
For nature lovers, it doesn’t get much better than a holiday in Maine USA. Think rugged mountains peeking out from verdant woodland, and miles of unkempt lighthouse-speckled coastlines that fringe Maine’s Eastern edge.
Your holiday in Maine New England should definitely include a visit to the 47,000 acre Acadia National Park - it’s one of the most popular national parks in the USA. Take the 20 mile Loop Road around the park and cruise the gentle sloping roads that curve through thick woodlands and past rocky coastlines.
Maine holidays are especially marvellous during the fall (autumn). You’ll be treated to a kaleidoscope of fall colours that soften from green to yellow to vivid-red in a magnificent show of New England’s seasonal foliage. For a true winter wonderland, there’s nothing like spending Christmas in Maine. Often blanketed in thick powdery snow, expect plenty of Christmas fairs and celebrations, and stunning festive lights displayed in every town and city.

Clams
Mainers often refer to clams as ‘steamers’ - and they’re served in many forms. This includes steamed, fried, and as chowder. When dished up steamed, you’ll usually be given a saucer of butter for dipping.
-
Lobster Roll
No seafood snack is more popular than Maine’s iconic lobster roll. You’ll find them served everywhere, from high-end seafood restaurants to food trucks to tiny roadside stands. Traditional lobster rolls are served in buttery and toasted hot dog buns, garnished with plenty of butter, mayo, and often with a dash of celery and a hint of chives.
