Finding yourself lost in wonder isn’t unusual on a Banff holiday. It’s a chance to discover a quaint, fairytale town in the mountains, where timber-fronted stores line the streets and the jagged silhouette of the Rocky Mountains acts as an enchanting backdrop. Nestled amongst the lakes, mountains and forests of Banff National Park, adventure awaits wherever you look.
You can take your pick of cosy hotels and lodges on a Banff holiday but, wherever you choose to stay, we recommend taking a visit to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. More than just a hotel, it’s somewhat of a landmark, so take a moment to go inside and explore its extravagant interior, with lounges, ballrooms and stunning balustraded staircases. Banff’s charming streets entice visitors to explore; take your time meandering around the many shops and restaurants and spotting its historic buildings or discover the Cascade Gardens, a peaceful retreat of beautiful flowers, waterfalls and ponds.
Explore the Incredible Banff National Park
With cosy Banff town as your base, explore Banff National Park, home to breathtaking mountains, turquoise lakes and endless adventure. In summer, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake call wanderers to explore their stunningly turquoise waters by kayak or canoe. By winter, Banff’s ski slopes beckon, with three world class ski resorts: Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Mount Norquay. Let the Banff Gondola carry you over tree tops to the top of Sulphur Mountain or take to the trails of Johnston Canyon and let the winding paths guide you to the stunning Lower and Upper Falls.
Holidays to Banff are perfectly combined with trips to other gems within Banff National Park, like stunning Lake Louise. Or why not head a little further afield and discover the rest of Alberta, making stops in Jasper and Calgary?
