Sydney, a stunning harbour city famous for its relaxing coastal walks, trendy restaurants, boutique bars and over 100 picture-perfect beaches. Offering a place to both unwind and explore, you can make the most of outdoor adventures, indulgent evenings and relaxing quality time on Sydney holidays.
Voted one of the best cities in the world, it really isn’t hard to see why. With a huge variety of things to do in Sydney, from the sweeping sails of the world-famous Opera House to surfers chasing waves on Bondi Beach, Sydney holidays offer a unique balance between trendy metropolitan city culture, classic beach days and untouched nature trails. Spend time taking in the incredible views from the top of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge on a harbour bridge climb; take a stroll through the lush, verdant grounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens or wander through the cobbled laneways of ‘The Rocks’ to learn of Sydney’s Aboriginal past.
City to surf
The white sands of Bondi Beach take centre stage when it comes to Sydney’s beaches, however, hidden gems such as Parsley bay and Collins Flat offer an idyllic setting off the usual tourist tracks. For brunch, head to Watsons Bay for fresh-off-the-boat prawns and a crisp glass of prosecco and enjoy views of the glittering city-skyline from across the beach. Those who enjoy exploring nature trails will love weaving through a mix of lush bushland and stunning harbourside views on the Manly to Spit Bridge coastal walk.

Best time to visit Sydney
The best time to go to Sydney is between September to November or March to May. During these times, there are fewer tourists and the weather offers comfortable temperatures for exploring and relaxing. The busiest period is between December and February, at the peak of summer, weather can be stiflingly hot and tourist spots will be busy. In winter, between June and August, the weather turns colder and wetter, however, this is a great time to see whales and dolphins and there are still pleasant spells.

Events & Festivals
The city of Sydney offers a huge selection of fun events held throughout the year that can be enjoyed by everyone. Here are a few of our top suggestions.
Sydney New Years Fireworks
Sydney Harbour is renowned for its new year's fireworks. There are many vantage points in the city so you can welcome the new year in style.
Vivid Sydney
The yearly festival of light is a celebration of music and ideas. Picture immersive light installations and modern art combined with creative performances and global musicians.
Mardis Gras
A colourful event with two weeks of theatre, music and art, as well as incredible parties and a parade. Sydney's Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras is an event like you've never seen before.
Local Cuisine
Sydney ranks as one of the best cities for food in the world. With fresh and flavoursome home-grown ingredients used in many dishes and its multicultural background inviting a melting pot of influence, there is no doubt, Sydney’s local cuisine will be a major highlight of your Sydney holiday.
Chicken Parmagiana
This is a classic Aussie dish you’ll find in most pubs and restaurants. Inspired by Italian-American cooking, chicken parmigiana is breaded chicken, topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella. The Aussies often refer to this as a ‘parmy’ and you’ll find the Shakespeare Hotel in Surry Hills does one of the best in Sydney.
BBQ
Get together for a picnic and head to the beach to use the many public BBQ spots. Fish (in particular shrimp) can make a succulent and juicy meal along with other cuts of meat.
Seafood
Sydney has a reputation for having some of the best seafood in Australia. Visit Sydney’s fish market, which is the biggest fish market in the Southern Hemisphere.
Gelato
Messina offers some of the best gelato in Australia and even has flavours such as ‘Tim Tam’ and ‘Milk chocolate with peanut fudge’. You can also sample each of the flavours before you buy.
