For a diverse and exciting multi centre holiday in Malaysia, we’ve created a trip which includes city sights, wildlife adventure and beaches.
Your holiday will begin with a visit to the ultra modern city of Kuala Lumpur. Here you’ll discover a varied range of architecture, from soaring skyscrapers to old colonial buildings and dramatic mosques. The most famous building of all is the twin Petronas Towers, which were once the tallest buildings in the world.
From Kuala Lumpur, you’ll hop on a short flight to Borneo where you’ll become immersed in a world of lush rainforests that are home to some of the most diverse wildlife found on the planet. This includes Borneo’s most famous residents – the flame haired orangutans. Observing these gentle creatures swinging from their trees in their natural habitat is heart warming, and such a special experience.
From the green rainforests of Borneo, you’ll travel to Penang. Penang is renowned as the foodie capital of the country and gastronomes will be in heaven. Visit local food markets and soak up the welcoming atmosphere and delicious sights and smells. When visiting Penang, a must is a visit to the district of Georgetown. This colourful town is the jewel of Penang, and offers rich culture, fascinating architecture and friendly and welcoming locals.

Start your Journey
To explore all that the expansive city of Kuala Lumpur has to offer, we recommend spending at least three nights here.
Head to the Traders Hotel to enjoy perfect views of the looming Petronas Towers both day and night. The hotel sits in the centre of the city, making it an ideal base for sightseeing.
Spend your days in Kuala Lumpur admiring the fascinating mix of both contemporary and old architecture, passing by sky high buildings, quaint shrines and magnificent mosques.
Kuala Lumpur is also a foodie and shopping haven. There are tons of delicious restaurants, street food stalls and eateries scattered across the city. From vibrant markets to Michelin starred restaurants, you’ll find menus dishing up fare with influences from all over the globe. There are also plenty of shopping opportunities, from high end malls to lively street markets.
Next on your Malaysia multi centre, you’ll head to the lush green rain forests of Borneo. The famous island is home to the most varied selection of fauna on earth and wildlife lovers from all over the globe travel to explore the vast jungles. The most renowned inhabitant of all is the endangered orangutan, and Borneo is one of the best places in the world to observe them.
We recommend staying at the Shangri – La’s Rasa Ria Resort and Spa for seven nights to make the most out of your trip to Borneo. The resort owns a nature reserve and orangutan rehabilitation centre, so you can visit the gentle creatures up close. There’s also a long stretch of secluded beach which you can relax on following a busy day searching for wildlife.
On the last leg of your Malaysia multi centre, you’ll head to the foodie capital of Penang. We suggest spending a minimum of four nights here, though you’ll probably want to spend a lot longer with all there is to see and do.
Eat your way through the local Nonya cuisine, which is a delicious fusion of Chinese and Malay cooking styles. There are plenty of high quality restaurants, street markets and cosy eateries for you to fill your stomach in.
Penang is also famous for its rich heritage, golden beaches and vibrant night markets. Don’t miss a visit to the cultural capital of George Town. The fascinating town is known for its British colonial architecture, Chinese shop houses and ornate mosques. You’ll also find plenty of street art adorning the walls, with each piece said to tell a story about Penang.
