Hemingways Collection and their three iconic Kenyan properties; Hemingways Nairobi, Ol Seki Hemingways Mara and Hemingways Watamu, are renowned for exclusive locations, personable service and exquisite cuisine. All three properties perfectly complement one another and by doing so, create a remarkable journey through Kenya.
Hemingways Watamu was the original property, opening in 1988, named after the famous author, explorer and fisherman, Ernest Hemingway. The Collection was then expanded in 2012 with the introduction of Ol Seki Hemingways Mara and then with the opening of Hemingways Nairobi in 2013, now the Collection’s flagship property. Proudly recognised as the first 5 star luxury boutique hotel in Nairobi, and now one of the finest hotels in Africa.
We suggest starting your journey at the iconic Hemingways Nairobi, spending two nights here. This allows for you to rejuvenate after the international flight, ready to start your adventure. Spend your first few days exploring the landscaped gardens and watch the day draw in from the Hemingways Bar with outstanding views of the Ngong Hills. During your stay, we recommend a visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, famous for rehabilitating orphaned elephants, and the Giraffe Sanctuary, to see the Rothschild giraffe.
Although it means an early start, we'd encourage that on day 3 you take a short flight to the Maasai Mara, to Ol Seki Hemingways Mara. Spend the following three days enjoying the wonderful wildlife and culture that a safari in Kenya has to offer. An experience that is worth considering is a sunrise hot air balloon ride. Admire the Mara plains beneath you as you keep an eye out for remarkable wildlife sightings.
On day 6, we suggest taking another short flight as you depart the Mara and travel to the coast, to Hemingways Watamu. We recommend spending four or more nights in this tropical paradise perched on the white golden sands and turquoise water of the Watamu Marine National Park. This is the opportunity to relax on the beach or beside the pool with your favourite book and a refreshing beverage. Dine al fresco on the beach under the stars as you immerse yourself in traditional Swahili flavours.
Throughout your journey you can be sure that you will experience personal and sincere service providing the utmost comfort and luxury.

The suites are spacious with large private terraces and en-suite bathrooms with an ambiance of contemporary-chic contrasted with the traditional elegance of vintage East African safaris.
Dine at The Brasserie for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Alternatively choose to arrange an evening of private dining for a special occassion, in particular the unique tasting menus expertly created by the Executive Chef, at the Chef’s Table.
Stretching to 200 km² northeast of the Mara Reserve, Naboisho Conservancy has one of the highest densities of lion in Africa. In addition, the conservancy also has impressive numbers of elephant, giraffe, as well as some of the rarest animals in Kenya, including the Wild Dog. By limiting entry to clients actually staying inside the conservancy, the safari experience remains very private, due to fewer vehicles.
With just 10 exclusive luxury tents, Ol Seki Heminways Mara, prides itself on tailoring everyday to you. Wake up to the panoramic views out across the plains, and enjoy private dining and star gazing from your private deck in the evening.
