Delhi
Welcome to India’s capital city, New Delhi. You will be picked up at the airport and dropped off at the hotel.
Discover Delhi and its many attractions on a full-day tour through the city. Head to Old Delhi and explore its vibrant bazaars, including Chandni Chowk built in the 17th century. Next, make your way to the grand Red Fort, which served as the residence of the Mughal rulers. Stop by the beautiful Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque. You could also explore this part of the city on a walking tour. Later, stroll through the many colourful handicraft stalls at Dilli Haat, an open-air bazaar. Take your time to explore the stunning Humayun's tomb, a shining example of Indo-Islamic architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Agra
Transfer from Delhi to Agra in a private, chauffeur-driven vehicle. The travel duration will be four hours.
Visit the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that served as the primary residence of Mughal rulers during the 17th century. Visit the impressive Jahangir Palace, the massive Diwan-i-Khas decorated with Persian artwork and the charming Khas Mahal, which features beautiful floral inlay work. Stop by the impressive Hauz-i-Jehangir, a five-foot-tall bathtub used by the emperor. Gaze out at the Taj through latticed windows and learn about the fort and its distinguished occupants. Finish the day’s tour with a visit to the Mehtab Bagh, a stunning crescent shape garden complex near the Yamuna River that offers some of the best views of the Taj Mahal. Wake up early the next morning to experience the Taj Mahal. En route to Jaipur, stop by Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the imposing former capital of the Mughal empire.
Jaipur
Head to Jaipur from Agra in a private, chauffeur driven vehicle. Enroute, you will visit Fatehpur Sikri. The duration of the journey, without stops, is around five hours.
Go back in time as you tour Jaipur. Ride out to Amber Fort, an impressive sandstone fort complex that provides sweeping views of the city. Take time to tour Albert Hall, the state museum of Rajasthan that boasts a stunning collection of Indian artefacts. Find the most beautiful frames at the delightful Hawa Mahal, which translates to Palace of Winds and is named so due to the hundreds of windows or ‘jharokhas’ that provide cool air to circulate inside.
Explore the many astronomical instruments, including the world’s largest stone sundial at Jantar Mantar, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Art and craft lovers will enjoy a visit to the Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing, which turns the spotlight on the ancient craft of textile block printing.
If you’re looking for an active day out, take a cycling trip to Ramgarh Lake, a scenic water body 36 km from Jaipur. Pedal your way along country roads and enjoy the sights and sounds of rural Rajasthan.
Kolkata
You will be transferred from your hotel to Jaipur airport where you can board your flight to Kolkata. The flight duration is two hours. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
Gangtok
Transfer from your hotel to Kolkata airport. Board your flight from Kolkata to Bagdogra, a one-and-a-half-hour journey. Your chauffeur will drive you from Bagdogra to Gangtok in a private vehicle. The travel time is five hours.
Enjoy a joyful private tour of Gangtok with your guide. Start with a drive to Rumtek Monastery, a Tibetan place of worship. Next, visit the Do-drul Chorten, surrounded by 108 prayer wheels. Stop by the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and browse through its museum and library with books and artefacts on Tibetan language and culture. Shop for souvenirs, art and craft items, such as carpets, at the Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom. Head out with your guide once again in the evening; this time, wander around the busy Mall Road and Lal Bazaar area, where you can try out delicious momos and enjoy the upbeat vibe of the place. You could also visit Labrang Monastery and get an understanding of the principle tenets of Buddhism.
Darjeeling
Explore Darjeeling, a charming hill station in the state of West Bengal. Head off on an early morning drive to the trailhead of Tiger Hill. From there, hike to the top, watch the sun cast its golden glow on the majestic Kanchenjunga mountain range. On clear days, you can even see the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kanchenjunga and Everest. Come back, enjoy a filling breakfast, and then get ready for a memorable train ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. Popularly known as the Darjeeling Toy Train, the ride allows you to drink in the beautiful mountain and forest vistas along the route. Stop at Ghum station, located at an altitude of 7,408 feet and visit the Yiga Choeling Gompa, a monastery that houses a 15 feet statue of Maitreya Buddha. Tour the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, India’s premier outdoor adventure training academy. Your last stop for the day will be the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, home to endangered animal species such as red pandas, Tibetan wolves and blue sheep. During your stay in Darjeeling, you could also sign up for a guided trek up the Himalayas to Tumling and other hamlets along the way.
Kolkata
Leave Darjeeling for Bagdogra in a private chauffeur-driven vehicle. Board your flight to Kolkata from Bagdogra. The flight duration is one hour.
Explore Kolkata's grand buildings and monuments, such as St. John's Church, the majestic High Court, the sprawling Governor's House, the General Post Office and the Writer's Building. Stop by the stunning Victoria Memorial and rest your legs at the peaceful St. Paul's Cathedral. Pay your respects at Mother Teresa's House and explore the Indian Museum, a treasure trove of artefacts on Indian art, archaeology, anthropology, botany and more. Delve into the region's art heritage at the famous Tagore House, where the Late Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore composed some of his most famous works.
You will be dropped off at Kolkata airport, in a private vehicle, for your journey back home.
