Set out to meet the giants of the ocean aboard a double-decker boat from Reykjavik across the Faxaflói bay. Along the way, you will learn about Iceland's rich and thriving marine life and avifauna, and get tips on the best way to spot them in the wild.
Head up to the large viewing decks to enjoy panoramic vistas of the Snæfellsjökull glacier and the Mount Esja range along the coastline. Try to spot different species of whales including minke whales, and humpback whales. Apart from harbor porpoises and white-beaked dolphins, you may spot a variety of seabirds such as gulls, cormorants, and puffins.
You can learn more about whales while browsing through the interactive onboard display of marine artifacts. This is your chance to see whale teeth, bones, plankton nets, and more from up close. Returning to shore, you will see Reykjavik's skyline highlighted by the Sun Voyager sculpture and the contemporary Harpa concert hall.
