Earnest and cultured, and every inch the gentleman, and now friend of Hayes & Jarvis, this is Levison Wood.
Throughout the interview we conducted with the award-winning author, one thing became clear: he is, like many of us, pursuing his passion for travel. This transports him to some of the most fascinating and spectacular places in the world. A journalist and photographer who specialises in documenting cultures in remote regions and post-conflict zones, he is also an elected fellow of both the Royal Geographical Society and the Explorers Club.
Levison Wood’s book Walking the Himalayas, was voted Adventure Travel Book of the Year at the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards. His other books, Walking the Nile and Walking the Americas, were both Sunday Times bestsellers. Critically acclaimed documentaries include From Russia to Iran: Crossing the Wild Frontier – a four-part series for Channel 4.
Now embarked on a new journey, promoting his latest book which launches on 1 November: Arabia: A Journey Through The Heart of the Middle East, he is also touring the country, recounting tales of his amazing adventures and fielding questions from the audience. If you’re a fan of travel, exploration and adventure you can catch Levison at these venues:
