Reykjavik
You will be met at Reykjavík-Keflavik airport and be driven to your hotel in a private vehicle.
Reykjavík, Iceland’s capital, is a city framed by stunning landscapes and known for its world-class museums, colourful houses, and lively nightlife. It makes an excellent base for exploring natural wonders like the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa or witnessing the Northern Lights.
The city boasts a vibrant cultural and design scene, with numerous art galleries, restaurants, cafés, bars, and live music venues. Public squares, such as Austurvöllur, buzz with activity. The picturesque Old Harbour, with its eclectic marketplace, is also worth a visit. Don’t miss sampling Icelandic cuisine, especially seafood and lamb, which are local favourites.
Private Tour of Reykjavik
Explore Iceland’s capital, Reykjavík, with a private guide. Begin your day with a visit to the magnificent Hallgrímskirkja Church. Visible from across the city, its design is inspired by Iceland’s dramatic natural geology. Take in sweeping views of Reykjavík from the observation deck at the top of the cathedral.
After, continue to Harpa Concert Hall, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, known for its sleek, coloured glass façade and contemporary design. Here, join a guided tour or attend a live performance. Later, stroll along the waterfront, stopping to see the striking Sun Voyager steel sculpture.
Finally, make your way to the fashionable Laugavegur Street, lined with boutique shops and trendy restaurants. Enjoy a meal here before exploring the quirky street art found in the downtown area.
Private Reykjavík Food Walk
Savour Reykjavík’s rich cultural scene on a walking tour of much-loved culinary spots. Sample at least ten different local specialities, from artisanal seasonal cheeses to delicious handmade Icelandic ice cream, on this customised food experience. Learn about Iceland’s food heritage from your guide as you taste authentic seafood and grass-fed, free-roaming lamb.
Along the way, take in colourful street art and pass Reykjavík landmarks as you visit relaxed fine dining venues, cosy family-run restaurants and local favourites, including a popular hot dog stand. If you feel adventurous, your guide can also suggest places to try traditional Viking dishes such as fermented shark, ram’s testicles and sour sheep’s head.
Hella
Your chauffeur-guide will drive you from Reykjavík to Hella in a private vehicle. This is an hour-and-a-half journey.
Hella is a charming town nestled between Selfoss and Hvolsvöllur, along Iceland’s famous Ring Road. Within easy reach of Reykjavík, it offers superb views of Hekla, one of Iceland’s active volcanoes. For most visitors, Hella serves as an ideal base for exploring South Iceland, offering access to volcano and glacier hikes. It is also close to Landeyjarhöfn harbour, the departure point for a scenic ferry ride to the Westman Islands. This riverside town is a favourite with fishing enthusiasts as well.
Private Tour of Golden Circle
Set out from Reykjavík to explore the beautiful highlights of the famous Golden Circle route. Begin at the UNESCO-listed Þingvellir National Park, the site of Iceland’s first Parliament with its landscape of waterfalls and aquifers. Take in the striking scenery made famous in the ‘Game of Thrones’ series.
Continue to the Geysir geothermal area, tucked in the Haukadalur Valley, and stop at the spectacular Great Geysir and Strokkur. Drive on to the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall and watch it plunge into a dramatic river canyon. From this vantage point, enjoy sweeping views of the Langjökull glacier.
Skaftafell/ Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Your chauffeur guide will drive you from Hella to Skaftafell in a private vehicle. This is a 3-hour journey.
Skaftafell sits on Iceland’s south-eastern coast, along the Ring Road. This year-round destination in Vatnajökull National Park offers campsites and hiking trails that take you to glaciers, rivers and waterfalls. The visitor centre showcases the region’s volcanoes and glaciers and their impact on local communities.
Lush meadows, rugged volcanic mountains and Svartifoss, a waterfall with black basalt columns, makes this area a paradise for adventurers. Summers are perfect for hiking, while winter offers ice-cave and glacial-lagoon excursions. Skaftafell is also an ideal base to climb Hvannadalshnjúkur, Iceland’s highest peak.
Explore Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon and Waterfalls and Hike Svartifoss on your own
If you have the time and weather allows it, we recommend visiting Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon and nearby waterfalls. Combine this trip with a hike to Svartifoss. Head out from Vík to explore the dramatic Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, made famous in the ‘Game of Thrones’ series. Once you reach, walk along the winding path carved by the Fjaðrá River and take in the rugged landscape stretching to the horizon.
After, continue to the historic Kirkjubæjarklaustur area to see Systrafoss, or the Waterfall of the Sisters, named after a convent that stood here in the 12th century. Notice how the Fossá River divides into two narrow streams, forming twin waterfalls that flow side by side down the rocky cliffs. Another eye-catching sight is Foss á Síðu, a waterfall which descends from Lake Þórutjörn.
For a truly special experience, hike to Svartifoss, a waterfall set amid striking black basalt columns and surrounded by the vast green landscapes of Skaftafell National Park.
Private Zodiac Boat Tour of Fjallsárlón Iceberg Lagoon
Discover the ever-changing landscape of Fjallsárlón Iceberg Lagoon on an exciting boat ride. Put on your protective gear before setting off in a sturdy Zodiac boat across the crystal-clear waters. Get up close to floating icebergs on this glacial lagoon at the southern edge of the Vatnajökull Glacier.
Learn about the region’s unique geology from your knowledgeable guide and, with a bit of luck, you may even see ice calving from the glacier’s edge. After around an hour on the lagoon, return to shore with unforgettable memories.
Private Glacier Hike of Vatnajökull
Enjoy hiking on Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest ice cap, with a trek tailored to your preferences. Arrive at the Freysnes service station car park in good time to meet your private guide. The Freysnes Orkan fuel station is just a five-minute drive from the Skaftafell Nature Reserve.
From the base, travel in a sturdy 4WD vehicle to Falljökull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull. After a safety briefing and an introduction to glacier hiking, fit your crampons, collect your ice axe and prepare to tackle the icy terrain.
Set out on an hour-long hike across the vast glacial fields as your guide points out landmarks and local features along the route. Learn about the region’s natural history and geology while taking in spectacular views. This short hike is a carbon-neutral activity that also supports the local community. After the hike, drive to base and transfer back to your hotel.
Reykjanes/ Blue Lagoon
Your chauffeur will drive you from Skaftafell to Reykjanes/Blue Lagoon in a private vehicle. This is a five-hour journey.
Reykjanes is a geothermal peninsula that forms the south-western tip of Reykjanesskagi in Iceland. This UNESCO Global Geopark is also known as ‘smoking peninsula’, because of its otherworldly landscape of moss-covered lava fields, volcanic craters, caves and hot springs. Keflavík International Airport is located here, 50 kilometres south-west of Reykjavík.
The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa that is fed by the steaming waters from the nearby Svartsengi geothermal power station.
