Edge of Serenity indeed

To put it briefly, our stay was sublime. We felt that we had been privy to something so unique and so special that we could not come away unchanged. The location is excellent with pristine views and access to one of the last truly wild places in Africa. The food was up there with the best hotels, along with the service. Management and staff made us very welcome. The rooms were very well appointed and most comfortable, and the decor suited the location perfectly. We are planning our next trip

A magnificent setting and wonderful lodge

This place is one of the most beautiful places we have visited ever. It is very remote and a challenge to reach on a bad road but doable with a 4x4 easily. Once you reach it however it is heart stopping beautiful. The Lodge is high above the Save river where crocodiles lurk and hippos grunt. Elephants come down to drink. The lodge itself is perfect in every way. Comfortable private chalets overlooking the river. We stayed in self catering ones but ate excellent and reasonably priced dinners at the lodge. We went on game drives to the park opposite the lodge. Although there are few big cats the place is teeming with game especially elephants. The setting is almost biblical with the animals in their natural state with little human footprint and very few cars. I would suggest going on guided drives as the driving across rivers etc is hugely challenging even in 4x4. You must visit Chilogo cliffs. A magnificent Africa can vista which needs to be seen to be believed. The staff were friendly and the guides excellent. This place is magical.
