It's worth staying once, but beware of some issues

Arlington

One of my best friends told me I had to stay at the Royal Livingstone. He also told me that the employees stole some electronics from him. Regardless, he really wanted me to stay at this hotel. After my recent stay, I feel the same way. Despite some negative things about this hotel, I still think people should stay there one time in their life. My major negative feedback is a lot of the employees continuing told me they wanted to have their palms greased. Unfortunately, an email to management (D. Sikobwe) only provided a boilerplate response, so it will be interesting to see the hotel's response in this format. Below are my pros and cons: Pros: It's a beautiful hotel. While it has cracks and mildew here and there, the character of the hotel is outstanding. The bar on the Zambezi at sunset is amazing (note you do not have to be a hotel guest to have a sundowner). There are zebras and giraffes walking around the property. Hotel is walkable to the falls and is two levels nicer than the sister property the Avani. Meeting point to go to Devil's pool Cons: Expensive hotel Food was just so-so Bell staff needs to be tipped and tipped often. Waiter cornered our party to inform us that the 10% service charge was not enough of a tip for him and he expected more.

Naturally Beautiful!!

Dallas, Texas

Royal Livingston Hotel's setting is one of the most beautiful "natural wonders" in the world ... Victoria Falls! Needless to say the grounds and view are amazing and the hotel is equally beautiful! Enjoyed dining at their casual restaurant by the river & falls but their more formal restaurant was just "OK"! While there - be sure and have the concierge arrange a helicopter ride over the falls - BREATHTAKING! And have "high tea" at the top of falls!!
