Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

I like the beach here. It is private. Quiet, beautiful scenery. Friendly management here, massa service is excellent. I was in the presidential room. But I think they need to clean it up more. When I checked in, it was not clean (maybe this room is less used by guests).

Honeymoon BLISS

Waterford, Ireland

We have just stayed 11 nights here and magical is not the word. We arrived at the airport and were greeted with a cold dr ink and towels which started our journey just right. When we checked in we were given more cold towels and a welcome drink and were greeted by the head Fusionista Jorge. He was very thorough in his explanations of everything and an absolute asset to Fusion resort. As westerners, we sometimes found the Viatnamese English to be a little hard to understand but as Jorge is Spanish we were able to communicate quite well with him. He has clearly trained his Fusionista team quite well and his demeanor, personality and passion for his job started our trip perfectly. Unfortunately he wasn't there for our entire stay as he took a well deserved holiday but his entire team were amazing in his absence. We were able to message with and book taxis, tours etc with the other fashionistas quite effortlessly. We stayed in a garden villa which gave us lots of privacy. The villa was spacious with a fabulous garden and the privaye pool is the cherry on top. Plenty of towels and amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, shaving kits, toothbrushes etc. They also provide bug spray for mosquitos which is another extra touch. In each villa there is a beach bag for bringing all your bits to the beach and main pool which was extremely handy. The mini bar was well stocked and housekeeping did an excellent job including a daily turn down service. Plenty of bottled water is provided in the room which is needed in the heat! We booked a private tour for snorkeling and sight seeing through the hotel and it was very reasonably priced. Our tour guide, Dong was amazing and had a lot of knowledge to share . We had lunch a few times in the resort and dinner on one evening and while the food is good, it is vastly overpriced in comparison to the town and everywhere else in Vietnam. I do appreciate it's a five star resort but in all the travelling we have done, I have never seen mark ups like that. It is a pity but the food is good and if you don't want to leave the resort there are nice options for local and western food. My husband and I both work in high end hospitality resorts and our expectations are always very high when we travel but we are delighted to say fusion resort was definitely the best place we have ever stayed. The staff are incredibly friendly, almost to a fault but it was lovely to be greeted with a hello and a smile from every staff member we passed, from management to housekeeping to maintenance. The only downfall of the resort (and not a major one) was the lack of training and knowledge of the service staff. They were all very nice and friendly but it was clear to us (again, hospitality professionals) that there was a lack of communication with staff and sometimes the service was very slow. However, that was a very small glitch in what was otherwise an amazing stay. On one occasion we waited a very long time for service in the bar and were then given the wrong drinks. By that time we had to leave as we had plans and cancelled our order completely. Later that day, the outlet manager, Darry, followed us up the beach and profoundly apologised for the mix up and offered us a free drink at the sunset bar. It was a gesture that was not needed but certainly appreciated and definitely made up for the mix up in the bar earlier that day. Working in the industry we are well aware of human error so it was certainly not a problem but it was rectified in such a gracious way and we were very grateful. The resort also offers complimentary paddle boarding, kayaking, afternoon tea, tennis and a games room for kids (and adults). The resort is a little isolated but there are plenty of activities to account for that although we did spend most of our time relaxing at the beach- just what we needed. Not forgetting the all inclusive spa which was amazing. The staff were extremely professional and kind and adhered perfectly to all our requests. When I got very bad sunburn on the back of my legs, they gave me some complimentary fresh aloe vera which really really helped. Every time we went for a treatment we were given water and cold towels and fresh tea afterwards. They also offer yoga and thai chi and have an adults only pool and a gym. We enjoyed the thai chi very much and were completely relaxed and de-stressed after all our treatments. Overall the resort was absolutely way above our expectations and as I said, we have very high expectations. We were treated like we were the only guests there and it was evident that the staff really want to make your stay special. We will most definitely return as we have fallen in love with Vietnam and fusion resorts. Thank you once again for an amazing stay.
