Ci Chi Tunnels

Cu Chi Tunnels Vietnam

Despite its troubled history, Vietnam's people are friendly souls who are likely to share with you real life tales and traditions. That's why a trip to experience the Cu Chi Tunnels, legendary during the 1960s, is so poignant and humbling.

The tunnels were mainly used when nationalist guerrillas fought against the Americans and were vital during the French-Indochina and Vietnam wars, when local villagers and fighters spent years living and working in this 125-mile underground network. Forced underground by heavy bombing, people used the tunnels to link villages and house hospitals, factories and store rooms.

Today, you can visit the tunnels and learn more about their fascinating history at the individual sites with a guided tour.
