Marginal “resort”

Williamsburg, Virginia

The rooms here had a 70’s feel and in need of renovation. The WiFi is terrible, I had to go to the lobby to find a hot spot (this is a cheap and easy fix!). The breakfast buffet was on par with a Holiday Inn and at $26. way overpriced (powered scrambled eggs). They are lucky to have the beauty of the surrounding area.

Beautiful morning views across to Lake Powell

London, United Kingdom

Its not about the resort, its all in the location. Set in National Park grounds - an area of National Recreation, its a superb base to go out and enjoy Lake Powell. Nearby Page has the beautiful sandstone slot canyon (the higher and lower) Antelope Canyon, as well as the opportunity to rent boats to explore the miles and miles of Lake Powells shores. You can fish all you want, boats galore, explore numerous waterways. Can imagine in the summer its heaving out on the lake as indicated by the number and variety of boats available to hire! The accommodation is expensive for what it is. Rooms are in two story blocks off a central corridor. Whilst all basic needs are met, ours looked ‘tired and dated’. Comfortable nights sleep, very quiet out as it is nicely remote, but very accessible. Staff are pretty friendly. Two pools - can imagine being crowded in summer. You do feel you are overpaying as other reviewers have said for what you get for your money, but what price the location and views? Thats what is cashed in on. We went pre summer rush, and its was peaceful. On departure a few tour coaches started to arrive.... All in all, a great base for Lake Powell, Page and the Glenn Canyon Dam.
