Great place to stay

Eastlake, Ohio

For our 30th anniversary my wife planed a trip to the Grand Canyon. We have been there before but just for a day trip out of Las Vegas while enroute to Flagstaff. This time we were in the area for 4 days. I love trains and knowing that she booked us into this hotel which is right next to the BNSF railroad tracks. (train watcher heaven) As close as it was the hotel is quiet and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful answering questions. For convenience and to save some money there are a few different packages available so check out the website. She booked a package deal which included meals and the ride on Grand Canyon Scenic Railroad. By booking the package you get breakfast, lunch, and diner buffet style at the on site restaurant. The food is great with plenty of choices. For the train enthusiast passing trains can be seen from the restaurant. After breakfast and before the train leaves for the canyon, a group of local actors put on a humorous and family friendly wild west show. Also on site is a couple gift shops. One shop is railroad themed and the other more toward the canyon . We would definitely do it again.

Great family place near Grand Canyon

Huntington, New York

We liked this property for our stay near the Grand Canyon. It's a 30 to 40 minute drive on an easy straight road that leads right into Grand Canyon National Park at the South Rim. The hotel is large with clean rooms and bathrooms. The train that runs into the park is directly behind the hotel. It was fun to hear it pull into the station in the morning and evening. The hotel has a nice gift shop and a restaurant. The restaurant was terrible, it's a buffet and the food was awful for dinner. We ended up going into Williams (a 2 minute drive) to eat at a local restaurant (great decision). Overall we would recommend the hotel if you are planning a trip to see the Grand Canyon. It's also just minutes away from Bearizona which was a great little animal park.
