Grand experience...

Peru, Indiana

We stayed here two nights (before and after our night stay at the Grand Canyon), and were very pleased with the experience. The facility is clean and well-maintained, with a rustic railroad lodge ambiance. The fireplace in the lobby is a great place to relax and step back a bit in time. Check-in was efficient, and the staff were friendly and informative. Our room was comfortable, and provided a pleasant retreat after a long day. We stayed here as part of a package consisting of two nights here, one night in the Grand Canyon Village, a train ride there and back, multiple meals and two Grand Canyon tours. (We did separate reviews of the restaurants, tours, train ride and other lodging.) The best part of the package was the seamless coordination of all the components, these people run an efficient operation (one of the best parts being how one's luggage appears in one's room each evening.....nice).

Enjoyable trip!

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Canyon Hotel and took the train to the Grand Canyon. It was very enjoyable. Take a book to read on the train-it is 2 1/2 hours. The hotel was very clean, roomy and modern. It had just been renovated! It included two $20 vouchers to spend in the gift shops. Nice Pub. Buffet not so good. I would stay there again if in the area, just not eat at the buffet. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Old town is across the tracts.
