Louisiana's Old State Capitol Building

The beautiful Louisiana Old State Capitol building, overlooking the Mississippi river in Baton Rouge, was built to look and function like a castle and was the site of the Louisiana State Legislature until it found a new home at the current capitol tower building in 1932.
The Old State Capitol is now home to a museum of political history, which houses several state of the art exhibits including the award winning 'Ghost of the Castle' exhibit. The museum is open Tuesday to Friday between 10 a.m. and  4 p.m. and Saturday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and admission is free.
