My husband's 50th Birthday Celebration

We checked into Loews on Friday, May 18, 2018 for 2 nights. I will say that the hotel staff from the valet parking attendants to the doorman to the front desk were wonderful. We checked into our room on the 8th floor and after a 5 hour drive, we decided to roll back the comforter, open the blinds and enjoy our view of the nearby construction and relax.. and there it was - a huge stain on the sheets. We called the front desk and a bellman came to retrieve our items to assist us in moving to a different room down the hall. Before he left, we checked the sheets and there it was again... another stain on the sheets. We eventually moved to a room on the 2nd floor where there was a view of a barrier out the window. This was room 211. While it was much bigger and clean, we did not enjoy the view. There was no full length mirror as in the other two rooms which would have been nice to have. The shower was also not updated as they were on the 8th floor. For the price, I am highly disappointed. This is supposed to be an upscale hotel and very disappointed. The coffee in the rooms was minimal - 2 pods of regular coffee and a green tea - i guess they want you to spend more money in the coffee shop in the lobby. When checking out at the front desk on Sunday, the lady asked how I enjoyed my stay. My reply was we had a few issues. She said well I am sorry to hear that. Not - what were your issues, were they resolved, etc. The gentleman standing behind her appeared to be a manager and he just crinkled his nose and said I am sorry to hear that - almost like I was being absurd. All in all, while they did work out our issues, I was not highly satisfied, I was appeased and for a top notch upscale hotel I guess I expected more. I will not be staying with the Loews brand again. Loew's Vanderbilt Hotel - Exceptional Guest Service

New Haven, Connecticut

I can't say enough about the exceptional guest service at this hotel. From the time we arrived at the valet stand to the time we checked out, every staff member was friendly, helpful and courteous. The room was spacious and the bed was one of the most comfortable of any hotel that I've stayed. The food was delicious, including the market in the front lobby - the best scone I've ever had! The hotel is nicely situated - close enough to downtown without being next door to all of the noise from the honky tonks and bars. The concierge staff were extremely helpful in recommending tourist attractions and making the necessary arrangements. My favorite perk of this hotel is the complimentary Cadillac Escalade car service - they drove us anywhere we wanted to go within 3 miles of the hotel, including drop off and pick up! For this reason, I would not rent a car on my next visit - it stayed parked in the garage almost the entire time we were in Nashville because of this unexpected bonus. I would highly recommend this hotel for it's overall ambience and exceptional customer service.
