History, Ducks and Luxury

San Antonio, Texas

The Peabody is the place you want to stay if you appreciate history, great service, and an amazing atmosphere. Upon our arrival, we were treated like the stars who have visited before us. Shannon was simply amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. One note, because this is a historic hotel, the rooms do not come equipped with refrigerators or microwaves. This was not a show stopper. The kids (7, 9, 17) loved seeing the ducks come in and the staff made sure the little ones had a front row seat. Afterwards, we took the hotel tour with the Duck master and it was amazing. It takes between 1.5 and 2 hours but you get to learn about the hotel, Elvis' connection, the vast Blues/music history of Memphis. It is short walking distance to Beale street, a 5 minute drive to the Bass Pro Shops pyramid, and about 15 minutes to the amazing zoo. From the concierge, bell hop, and valet, everyone made us feel welcomed. Don't forget your swim trunks for the great pool. While pricey, it was definitely worth it.

Did not disappoint!

My husband and I spent our wedding night at The Peabody in 1983. This was our first visit back and The Peabody did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived until we departed ,we were treated so kindly! The history, the ambiance, the memories made for a perfect couple of night get-away. We only wished we were able to stay longer. The location is perfect. You are really able to walk to everything you would like to see and do in the downtown area. Dining, drinking and music listening opportunities are everywhere in the hotel and surrounding blocks! We will be back!
