Nottoway Plantation & Resort

The beautiful Nottaway Plantation Resort is home to one of the largest antebellum mansions in the Deep South. This impressive sugarcane estate dating back to the 1850’s has been restored to its stunning original architectural design.

Set on the banks of the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Nottoway is the perfect destination to escape the buzz of the city and unwind in the picturesque Louisiana plantation country.

When staying at Nottoway you have a choice of beautifully renovated rooms within the antebellum mansion building or a selection of deluxe hotel rooms in the Carriage House or cottages. Whichever type of accommodation you opt for, you will be sure to enjoy luxurious amenities including plush bedding and complimentary WiFi.

Take a stroll around the gardens, enjoy the view from the Rotunda overlooking the oak-draped lawns as you enjoy Southern specialities at the Mansion Restaurant, take a guided tour of the historic property or if you are looking to explore the bayous and swamps of this region’s unique landscape, the serene Bay Natchez and the Atchafalaya Spillway are just a short drive away.

Great tour, but don't stay there...

Bloomingdale, New Jersey

By all means go and tour this huge, wonderful plantation. But I'm sure you can find more comfortable places to stay, although maybe not for the same price. Our room in the boy's wing was old and drafty and up a lot of steps. They do help you with your luggage, however. The restaurant was poorly staffed with the same person functioning as the bartender and waitress. There seemed to be only one waitress for the entire restaurant. The food (dinner and breakfast) was just ok. Perhaps the cottages would be a better choice because they may be newer.

Girls Weekend

We went on a weekend girls trip to see some sights. Nottoway was amazingly stunning! The tour, the restaurant, the hosts were completely open to making our visit memorable and a visit into history We would return in a heartbeat, maybe this time with our husbands
