Massive size but under staffed; overpriced, crowded and confusing layout

The place has potential, but not enough staff to help with check-in so you have to wait, wait and you got it wait. multiple conversations at the same time it is hard to hear. Errors in hotel booking, parking is crazy expensive. So large a hotel that you get lost in the one mile trek to your hotel room. They do have information booth around, just not one there to staff it (just brochures laid out). restaurants are nice and Christmas decorations are amazing. Suggest you visit the garden but no value to staying at this hotel, no advantage to you as customer, no discounts, no upgrade (yes I am platinum in Marriott). When problems happen you need go to lobby wait in line, then get a supervisor to try to solve it. I sound like a scrooge but they made me into one. Oh everything is expensive there too, food, entertainment and again no discount for guest. No reason to stay there, there are millions of free visitors anyways.

Nashville Tour

The Gaylord.... a huge three ring circus where no one in management, reservations or the front desk knows what is going on! We made reservations through a tour company for 12/2 and 12/3. After waiting in a significant line we finally got to the desk and were told they did not have our reservation. They informed us we could get a room at a hotel across the street that still had 10 rooms. Now, they own that hotel also, but they wouldn’t call to make the reservation, they just handed me a number. The lobby was chaos and very noisy so I am standing there trying to go through a phone tree which took me 3 times , but finally got a room. The Gaylord also neglected to tell us that there was a shuttle to said hotel so we wound up bribing a cab to drive us across the road. It seems the Gaylord draws huge crowds to view their Christmas displays. It took almost 30 minutes to drive across the road. If we had not had luggage we could have walked! The next day we found out they didn’t have a room for the tour company rep either, although they somehow found one and they kept another member of our tour waiting in the lobby for 6 hours for a room. The woman has MS and is in a wheelchair for heaven sake! Yet they kept her waiting all that time! We will not go back and will tell anyone who mentions the place our experience!
