Nashville Holidays

Nashville holidays are an invitation to experience the incredible rhythms of Music City; locals and visitors alike lose themselves on the dance floors of Honky-tonks and pass time mingling with friends. Come and enjoy the music and the rich culture that runs through Nashville’s veins.

Spend some time discovering Nashville’s gems and learn how it came to be the epicentre of country music. Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and follow the story of the genre’s evolution and tour the Johnny Cash Museum to discover the story of one of Country’s most famed stars. By night, take in one of the infamous shows at the Grand Ole Opry or, in the winter months, the Ryman Auditorium, stages that have seen the launch of some extraordinary careers. Or, to truly get into the swing of the city, hop from bar to bar and enjoy all sorts of live bands as you go.

Nashville: A City of Cultural Heritage

It’s not just all about music; part of the Deep South, the city has other historical tales to tell too. Join a guide on a tour of the Belle Meade Plantation and see its grounds, mansion and outhouses to get a taste of what life was like for the Hardy-Jackson family that once called it home, as well as the slaves that worked for them.

Once you’ve spent a few days of your Nashville holiday lost in the sound of Music City, journey on and explore more of Tennessee. Why not take in the abundance of natural beauty at Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga and follow the Tennessee Whiskey Trail to sample different takes on the state’s classic tipple?

"No holiday to Nashville is complete without a visit to the Grand Ole Opry. You can join a daily daytime tour of the Opry, but for the authentic experience visit on a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday for the iconic live radio shows."

"Broadway Street is the place to go for relaxed live music, with bar after bar of live country music, restaurants and cowboy boot shops. For a slightly different experience, head out to the Bluebird Cafe; it holds no more than 100 people and it’s extremely popular, so make sure you head down early to avoid disappointment."

  • Tin Pan South Songwriter Festival

Unfolding across the city over 5 days each March, Tin Pan South sees hundreds of artists perform the songs they’ve written in over 100 shows. The festival sheds a spotlight on amazing songwriters and the music they create, with a huge line up of over 250 artists.

  • Country Music Association Festival

Known as CMA Fest, this festival spans 4 days each June, with a focus on country music. Downtown Nashville is filled with the sounds of country legends and emerging talent performing across multiple stages, as well as interviews and Q&A sessions with some of the artists.

  • Let Freedom Sing

The Let Freedom Sing is Nashville’s Independence Day show put on by the city each 4th of July. As you’d expect from the Music City, there’s great live music, a family fun zone, food, drink and, most famously, a truly incredible fireworks show that’s thought to be one of the best in the country.

When it comes to food, Nashville is a classic Deep South city, favouring hearty meat, fried comfort food and sweet tea.

  • Meat and Three

Meat and Three restaurants are a popular type of eatery in Nashville. They offer up a choice of meat, often including brisket, fried chicken, steak and ham, and a choice of three side dishes, like mac ‘n’ cheese, beans and vegetables; grab a plate and pile it up.

  • Fruit Tea

Whatever kind of eatery you go to in Nashville, fruit tea is bound to be on the menu. The drink consists of sweet tea and fruit juice and is often topped off with lemon slices or sprigs of mint.

  • Biscuits

Similar to the British scone, American biscuits are a Nashville classic. Beloved across the city, you’ll find them on many menus here. Pair with fruity preserves or enjoy them with savoury options like fried chicken.
