Fantastic Hotel in the Center of the party on Bourbon Street

Halifax, Canada

An amazing hotel located right in the middle of Bourbon Street, the location is ideal if you are looking to party and really take in the festivities of downtown New Orleans. Some points on the hotel as I stayed for a week for a work conference; the layout and facilities are great - the hotel has a lounge bar and a very fine dining establishment called Restaurant Revolution in the main level. Also, there is a wicked pool and full courtyard around the pool area in the middle of the hotel interior. The rooms are decent, standard hotel rooms....make sure to get a room facing the interior of the hotel if you don't want to be kept up all night by the partying. The hotel is classic French style in décor...rooms and conference areas could use some updating. Overall, would recommend. If you are looking to party, get the rooms with the balconies on Bourbon!

Not as good as advertisied

Cincinnati, Ohio

My husband and I and another couple stayed here last weekend. I had picked the hotel based on reviews and the fact that I thought it would be fun to stay in the French Quarter especially for our one friend who had never been to New Orleans. The location is great right on Bourbon Street for those who want to be in the thick of it. Our room did face Bourbon Street and some have mentioned the noise but it really wasn't bad. The room itself was nicely furnished with a large closet and plenty of drawers but it was on the small side. I was told at check in that we were upgraded to a king bed because of belonging to their rewards program. I had booked a king bed so I don't know what he was talking about. I had several complaints about the hotel. The first day or so we were there the internet wasn't working. The elevator also wasn't working one day. The tub wasn't cleaned well (hair was still in it) and the water pressure in the shower wasn't good. My main thing that upset me was cleaning our room one day. We left at 10 am Sunday and didn't return until 6 pm. One would think that was plenty of time to clean a room. We went upstairs and our room hadn't been touched in all that time. There were three housekeepers in the hall. I spoke to one of them who seemed to be in charge. He took out his paper which must have told him who was checking out that day. When he looked at our room number he said oh. I stressed to him that we had dinner reservations and that we needed to get into our ASAP. He didn't seem to understand that. We went downstairs to wait for our room being done. We came back fifteen minutes later and it hadn't been touched. I spoke to another housekeeper but it seemed like she didn't understand what I said. I stressed again that we needed the room ASAP. This time I complained at the desk. She said that I should have come to her immediately and it would have been taken care of. After waiting another fifteen minutes, we went upstairs and the room was cleaned. I had to rush to get ready for dinner. It wasn't a pleasant experience. It really soured my impression of the hotel. I won't be staying there again if I return to New Orleans.
