Balcony rooms are wonderful, the location is ideal, but . . .

Warren, Michigan

My husband and I love New Orleans. We stayed at the Omni Royal Orleans one other time a couple years ago and it was magical. So that's why we wanted to come back to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We love the top floor pool and bar (not open during winter months), and fantastic views of the Quarter. Front desk staff and bell hops are friendly, and the French Onion soup at the Rib Room is to die for. If you can afford it, get the balcony room. My husband and I like to sit outside on the balcony--drinking, talking, and people watching. The other cool thing is you can also hear the street performers. We had a woman playing the electric violin on the corner--she was marvelous. However, I was disappointed when I got home and realized I left my new bathing suit hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I called the front desk two days after I checked out and was referred to loss prevention. The man took my name, room number and said he would contact Housekeeping about my suit. Needless to say, it's been 3 days and I haven't heard back. It bothers me that the housekeeping staff wouldn't turn my bathing suit into loss prevention. Isn't that the protocol? And if it's not, it should be. Where did my suit go? The trash? Home with a staff member? It feels super shady to me and I have to ask myself if I would stay at this property again, as much as I like it. You can people watch and enjoy the sights. I never thought it was overly loud.

Great stay

We had an issue with our room for the first night but the manager on duty solved the problem. The hotel is gorgeous, great location and very quite. There’s also a terrace with a pool and a great view on the city. Recommended!
