Close to where you want to be

My wife and I recently decided to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in New Orleans and she booked us at the International House hotel. Located at the edge of the business district, the hotel is just a short 15 minute walk from Jackson's Square and the French Quarter. The hotel staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us nothing but good recommendations for dining. The Loa bar is very comfortable and inviting and the bar tenders were friendly and made good drinks. While there is no restaurant in the hotel, they did offer fresh fruit and coffee in the mornings. Our room was on the penthouse level with good views of the French quarter and the river. The bed was nice and soft without being too soft. Housekeeping was completely unobtrusive and we never had to call the front desk for anything. While we were in the city, we did experience a torrential downpour that we learned was not normal at all. We got completely soaked trying to get back to the hotel and even had to cancel our dinner reservations. After getting dried out, we asked the front desk for take out recommendations. He told us that they probably wouldn't deliver because of all the flooding in the streets but, he did recommend a couple of nice places within a block of the hotel and even gave us an umbrella to use. Hotel staff can completely make or break your opinion of a hotel and this is one of those examples where the staff made an already excellent hotel an outstanding hotel.

AMAZING hotel. Can’t wait to return!

Charlotte, North Carolina

My husband and I traveled to New Orleans for our wedding anniversary. We splurged and booked the King Apple room. The room was on the Penthouse level. The room is beautiful! We had an extremely comfortable king size bed, a spacious bathroom with Aveda products, and a huge window overlooking the city and the river. We have stayed in many hotels and this is definitely one of our favorite rooms. The reception staff are very nice and informative. They gave us excellent recommendations for dining. They even gave us an umbrella one evening to use in a storm. The Loa bar is beautiful and the bartenders are friendly and mix an amazing drink. There are candles everywhere at night and comfortable couches and chairs to relax in. The bar has coffee available in the morning. There is not a restaurant in this hotel. The location of this hotel is perfect! We walked to everywhere we needed to go. It took us 15 minutes to walk to and from the restaurants in the French Quarter. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel!
