Great place for business and fun!

Auburn, California

My company held a class here, and as the instructor, I always stay at the host hotel for convenience. My room; clean, comfortable and roomy. I stayed in a king with an outdoor patio balcony room. It was somewhat noisy even though it didn't face the street directly but not too bad (I'm very sensitive to noise). It also had 2 adjoining doors on either side, which had me concerned, but again, it wasn't bad. I had one night where I definitely had neighbors on both sides of me and although I could hear them a little, it was fine when I turned the lights out to go to bed. That might not be the case if there were late night people there. My meeting room was also clean, comfortable and roomy. I loved that we had windows with natural light - I don't always get that! Service; this is where they excelled. From the staff at the front desk, to banquet and meeting room service to the concierge; everyone was professional and friendly. As I travel a lot to teach and run into all sort of hotels, I really appreciate this type of experience. The bonus was the location: so close to everything! From the restaurants (Luke - right across the street!) to the grocery store (I usually stock up for lunches and breakfast), great morning walks to the river and of course, being so close to the French Quarter - the location can't be beat. I had a great experience staying here!
