First Time Stay in Birmingham - Excellent Choice - Great Concierge

Seattle

We made a 4 state trip through the South and stayed at at least 7 different hotels along the way. On our last night in Birmingham, we decided to stay at the Westin...and I am so glad we did! The locations is terrific - super close to a rejuvenated area of downtown Birmingham, and the hotel is modern; it feels fresh and energetic. One of our highlights was taking the advice of the hotel's Concierge, Pamela Barnes. Since we had never been to Birmingham, we had no idea of where to go for authentic southern food. I especially wanted BBQ. Although throughout of journey, we leveraged Trip Advisor and other sites for finding restaurants + hotels, I saw Pamela at her stand and asked her about ideal spots for BBQ. Pam's highly recommended Saw's Soul Kitchen - about 10 minutes form the hotel. Saw's was exactly what we were looking for: delicious food and terrific atmosphere in a very cool neighborhood. After we returned to the hotel, I mentioned that I would love some pecan pie and Pam stepped up once again: she recommended the Brazilian steak house next door to the Westin (who'd have guessed?). The pie was truly delicious! Nice job Westin...nice job Pam....we are so glad that we ended our amazing southern journey at the Westin and with the help of Pam! P.S. No, we are not related to Pam. :)

Kinda New

Celina, Texas

It’s kind of a new area by the old rundown Sheraton and BJCC convention center. Next to some new restaurants and a Topgolf. They have run off the homeless people that would have kept you from walking outside of the hotel before. Rooms are a little small but spacious enough for business trips. I got a corner room that was real nice. They gave me a 4PM late checkout that was real nice. Shuttle to the airport every 30 minutes. Was here 3 days and never left this area.
