Loved this hotel. Customer service is stellar, amenities in the rooms and around the hotel, restaurants, beautiful roof pool... All fantastic. We are well traveled, and think the value for $$$ is very good. Special shout out to Frank who works by the pool, who gave me some great information about the city and places to visit!

Beautiful but lacking in service!

My boyfriend and I stayed here twice this summer. A total of at least 22 days! We think it's beautiful and I love that it's historic. There were plenty of things that we overlooked, but at this point, there is just no excuse. I don't know what problems they have with their computer system but it's something they need to figure out. I went to the front desk a few days ago telling them that I had multiple pre auth's on my account. We told them to take my card off completely from the system and just use my boyfriends. They said it had been taken care of. And yet, today after we checked out, I have a charge to my account for 1,200.00. We also overlooked the fact that I was kept out of my room for at least an hour the morning after I checked in. I had spent the night and in the morning went to pay the meter only to return and find my room key didn't work. I went to the front desk to get it reactivated and they tell me that they didn't see a payment for the room. I told them my boyfriend had paid 2 weeks in advance. I told them I could show them his confirmation and the debit to his account. I was then escorted to the room (that was paid for), that I spent the night in, and that had all my things, by security so I could grab my phone! I then waited in the lobby for about an hour until they could find the payment. I missed the plans I had with my family that morning because of this. If they hadn't seen a payment when I checked in, they shouldn't have let me check in and stay in the first place. The customer service is few and far between. Either you get great service from the staff or not at all. We had a great bartender, a nice housekeeper, and good room service. But the servers and front desk lacked good customer service. I would love to go back to this hotel but hope they'd work on these issues!
