Decent but Tired

Sacramento, California

This hotel is in a great location – it’s connected to a lovely shopping mall, close to activities and convenient to freeways in North Dallas. The workout facilities are excellent – good machines, good weights, a nice view to enjoy while exercising, chilled towels and chilled water for guests— so no complaints as to this aspect of the hotel. However, the minimalist concept wears thin when the hotel can’t provide basic room amenities to its guests. We clearly heard the 3a.m. partying of our next-door neighbors (and their chihuahua) through the thin walls. The room was dark and needed better general illumination. (Ironically, the sliding frosted glass door on the bathroom yielded a lot of unwanted light on the rest of the room in the middle of the night.) Unusual for this class of hotel, they did not provide the usual package of cotton balls/Q-tips/shower cap amenities in the bathrooms. Also, they were very stingy with the towels and soap. The phones – yes, something as basic as the telephone system – never worked for our entire four-day stay, and there was never an apology or adequate explanation for this huge inconvenience. Without the use of the phones, we could not call to ask housekeeping to leave us more than the required single bottle of shampoo or flimsy bar of soap. (We had actually use our cell phones to make long distance calls to speak to the front desk!) Also, they appeared to be shortstaffed because they could not get that shampoo and soap we needed to our room for more than an hour and a half after we asked for it. And even that took three cell phoned-long distance calls to the front desk.... :. So, I would say that if your family or business needs take you to this part of Dallas, this hotel is not a bad choice IF you are willing to put up with rather basic accommodations. You will probably enjoy the workout facilities, but the room itself will underwhelm you.

Lovely Hotel!

Burlingame, California

Very nice hotel with excellent service and a great welcome! Front Desk and all staff are terrific. The hotel is attached to a mall so easy to find restaurants and shopping. I had a fabulous view for 4th of July fireworks! Well located. The rooms are nicely appointed and well designed. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to be in this part of Dallas! Nice stay there.
