Big Disappointment

Scenery Hill, Pennsylvania

We have stayed at several Omni resorts and look for them when we travel. Barton Creek has sent us numerous e-mails about booking a reservation over the past several years, so we book our stay at the end of our week long trip to the Texas Hill Country for some R & R. No one mentioned that out my window would be a huge construction zone; the pro shop, golf course and pool were closed and they were getting ready to close down for a year. The coffee shop was not able to take cash and we had a couple of issues with the housekeeping dept. I asked for wash cloths and came back to my room to find pillows piled in the middle of the bed. We ran out of toilet paper and asked the front desk and housekeeping several times with no success on either matters. We finally took matters into our own hands and raided a bathroom in the lobby. The entrance was very hard to find in the dark because the entrance lampposts had been removed for the construction equipment. The restaurant was fine, but their was not a place to get a cocktail until after 5:00. I am normally not a complainer, but someone should have told us that the hotel and staff did not have the conveniences that we were expecting at this resort. We were looking forward to relaxing, using the pool and playing golf our last couple days of vacation which did not happen.

Best service even on their last weekend - definitely book when they reopen!

The Woodlands, Texas

After reading the recent reviews about the reconstruction issues, I was concerned. The weekend stay was a graduation present for my daughter and I wanted to make it memorable because we couldn't change location or date. I didn't realize it was their last weekend of operation before they closed for reconstruction. After getting a welcome email from Rodrigo Ibanez, Director of Rooms, I responded back with my concerns. To make a long story short, he did everything possible to make our stay truly memorable and my daughter was beyond thrilled. He exceeded our expectations with his prompt responses and ability to help. We did not have any issues with self parking. They even had golf carts to shuttle us to front door if we wanted. We were never effected by staffing issues even though there was 2 large events going on. Our rooms were turned down for the evening. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Loved the lemonade and cookies in the lobby plus the donut wall was cool and yummy! I could definitely see the construction but the view and sunrise were amazing! We dined in the restaurant, shopped at the shops, worked out in the gym, got facials in the spa, and played miniature golf. I'm glad I got to meet Rodrigo and thank him in person. I would definitely recommend this amazing hotel and location when they reopen in 2019!
