The highlight to the next part of your adventure will surely be when you stand at the rim of the magnificent Grand Canyon National Park. This iconic landmark has been captured countless times on film and photographs but nothing comes close to experiencing this natural wonder for yourself.
We like the Mather Campground for its peace and quiet and natural surroundings.
Set your alarm for an early wake up so you find a spot on the South Rim to watch the play of colours along the canyon walls as the sun rises.

After enjoying sunrise over the Grand Canyon, head east through more of the national park and past the Kaibab National Forest to Cameron, where you will join Highway 89 heading north to the City of Page and fabulous Lake Powell on the Colorado River. The drive is just under three hours so head out early to give you plenty of time to explore Lake Powell. Rent a boat and make for Rainbow Bridge or take a guided tour of picture perfect Antelope Canyon.

Continue along scenic Highway 89 as you make your way to the spectacular Bryce Canyon National Park and Ruby’s Inn Campground.

Your journey will take you through the Dixie National Forest and  will take approximately two and a half hours to reach Bryce Canyon, so set off early to ensure you have time to enjoy this very different National Park with its strange columns and pinnacles of rock.

You’ll also have a chance to explore the Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument which begins near Ruby’s Inn and is a very unique region of canyons, arches, plateaus and cliffs.

Back on Highway 89 today as you travel south heading for Zion National Park.

There is so much to see and do in this spectacular national park, hike along the narrows or take the trail to Angels landing, sit back and watch the shadows change the mood of the Court of the Patriarchs, join a ranger led program or enjoy Zion’s vermillion cliffs and verdant valleys on a mule ride.

You will probably want to spend more time in Zion National Park this morning, therefore we recommend breaking up your journey to Las Vegas with an overnight stay in Mesquite. This will give you the opportunity to enjoy a pleasant and interesting drive to the city. Enjoy the magical scenery of the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve with its one of a kind mix of desert ecosystems. Visit the St. George area with its historical pioneer homes, fascinating ghost towns and prehistoric dinosaur footprints. While Mesquite visit the Fine Arts Center and Gallery and the Virgin Valley Museum or take advantage of the amenities at the Desert Skies Resort such as the heated pool and Jacuzzi or the miniature golf course.

You can hop on to Interstate 15 to speed your way right into Las Vegas, however we would recommend taking a more leisurely route through the spectacular Lake Mead Recreation Area. Continue on Lake Shore Drive; stop off at Boulder Beach; then to the amazing Hoover Dam to see this amazing man made wonder up close.
Once in Las Vegas you can either head to the fabulous Oasis Resort Campground or you may prefer to return your Motorhome and check in to one of the city’s world-class hotels.
