Great overnight stay!

Oak Harbor, Washington

The room not only looked great but was super comfortable. The people at the front desk were super helpful and kind. Refreshments were readily available in the room. We visited on a weekend and there was a live DJ with a dance floor downstairs. Better experience than a majority of hotels I have visited.

Serious noise issues, mean staff.

I stayed at the W Seattle for two weeks in December 2015. The room was one of those that has a door into the adjacent room that was locked. At some point during my stay I got a neighbor in that adjacent room, and I could hear everything they did: watch TV, talk on the phone for hours, have sex. Nothing inappropriate, but rather very normal things people do. When I complained to the front desk, they sent someone to listen in the corridor and told me that the noise level was acceptable and they would not be asking the visitor to be quiet - which I never asked them to do anyway. My position was that the building had serious noise issues and the hotel staff kept rejecting this flatly. To them it was OK. Well, it was not OK for me - I could not sleep with the TV blaring next room and the sound reaching me practically without any noise barrier. So after about two hours of back and forth, they reluctantly suggested to move me into a different room. After about 10 days at the W, I had to pack everything and move several floors down to a different room, late at night. The hotel staff kept insisting that there were no issues with the noise. Nobody apologized for the inconvenience.
