Historic hotel

Sommer at the front desk was amazing! She overheard our recent engagement and sent a complimentary bottle of champagne to our room with a lovely note! We really appreciated it and will recommend to others interested in traveling to Portland!

What an absolute gem this hotel is! Lovely lobby, restaurant and bar downstairs is just so full of history, so lively at nighttime, with great attention to detail. People are friendly and welcoming, service quick and efficient, food great and drinks cold. What more can you ask for? Rooms are spacious and modern, very comfortable, bathrooms clean and airy. Perhaps the only issue with the rooms would be that they are a tad dark, although there’s great lighting in the corners of the room, many smaller lamps around, there’s no ceiling light but that’s a minor detail. Loved also the fact that as part of their sustainability programme, you can opt out of daily housekeeping. They will still provide you with fresh coffee pods and any bathroom supplies you should need but don’t cone to change towels and make up beds if you feel like that’s unnecessary. You just have to put a sign on your door and that’s it - for three days at least. All in all an absolutely fabulous hotel, loved every minute of it. Location was perfect too!
