Pacific Northwest Holidays

Visit expansive plains and stunning mountain ranges in the Pacific Northwest, sometimes referred to as Cascadia. Spreading from the Canadian border down to northern California with the Pacific Ocean to the west and Cascade Mountain range and Hell's Canyon on the east; a holiday to the Pacific Northwest encompasses rugged coastline, stunning scenic drives and an easy-going lifestyle.

For those coffee lovers out there; the lively, yet bohemian cities of Portland and Seattle are clear front runners in the coffee game. From the original Starbucks in Seattle to a coffee roaster on a pedal bike, you can taste your way around quirky cafes, bookshops and coffee shops.

We love the epicentre for fresh produce in Seattle at Pike Place market, where you can taste clam chowder or warm donuts and watch the fish throwing performance. From here, you can kayak around the San Juan Islands or explore three beautiful National Parks all within an easy drive of the city; Olympic, Mount Rainier and North Cascades National Parks. You can also journey to Canada really easily from Seattle by rail - jump aboard the Amtrak Cascades train or head further into the Canadian Rockies aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. Or why not hit the water and ride the Victoria Clipper across to Vancouver Island

Taste your way around the city of Portland with hundreds of food cart pods and head to VooDoo Doughnut; the place to go and try their delicious and unique creations, then venture down Oregon's west coast and visit Crater Lake National park, which is on everyone's Oregon wish list.

Pacific Northwest holidays are all about exploring the great outdoors, where you can hike, bike, kayak and climb. Not the active type? No problem, because this region offers ridiculously stunning views everywhere you look and some incredible driving routes, so hire a car or motorhome and hit the open road.

"Visiting Crater Lake, Oregon was one of the most incredible places I have been in the states and really took my breath away. I travelled here in April, when there was still snow, but the skies were clear and blue and the contrast of the deep blue lake against the while of the snow and green from the trees surrounding the lake was just beautiful."

"Seattle is a fantastic city and really opens up opportunities for exploring the Pacific Northwest. I loved Pike Place Market and all the fresh and tasty foods to try, but it is only a few hours to either Vancouver or Portland, which means you can visit multiple destinations on one amazing holiday to the states."
