Geneva, Switzerland

We have been to w Times Square nearly 8-9 years ago and this time we wanted to stay there too cause they have redone the whole hotel. The bar area, the reception, and the new restaurants look nice and modern. But again like so many NY hotels, the rooms were very small. We had a corner suit was we had no place to arrange our clothes. There were only hangers. The first night our tv lost signal. And it kept on going and coming back. So I called the reception. They explained to me that it was normal cause it was raining. I was shocked. I told that we are in NY and this is a very expensive hotels. How is it possible that the tv signals get lost because of the rain. Not possible. Then we had a problem with the ac. We had 2 connecting rooms and apparently the 2 rooms were sharing 1 ac system. If I put a little high heat in one room, there is cold air from the other. When I told them that, they said that it was normal because they share energy. So if you have more than 1 room, don’t ever take them one next to each other. But the manager was very kind and attentive about the problem. She sent me a mail explaining the situation and excusing. She even offered us $75 credit. But that didn’t change the fact that we spent our first night with no tv and no ac cause we preferred to turn off everything. The desk team were very kind. And the concierge also.

Upset with surprise “destination fee”

Weehawken, New Jersey

First time staying here and was caught off guard by a “destination fee” after checking in. I don’t like surprise fees especially when the fee doesn’t make sense. The location is good, but I will not be staying here again.
