Top-rated Relais and Chateaux hotel near Central Park

One of New York’s top-rated hotels, The Surrey offers understated luxury in a prime upper East Side location just a block from Central park. This prestigious hotel started out in 1926 as a residence hotel and was home to many famous names including JFK and Bette Davis before enjoying a trend-setting renovation in recent years under the sympathetic guidance of trend-setting designer Lauren Rottet. Experience the serene joys of the private rooftop garden, stay fit with the fitness centre and Bobbin Bike hire scheme or indulge at the spa before finishing your day with a meal at the unmissable Cafe Boulud. This is New York done right.

Excellent services, servicial staff and great location

Buenos Aires, Argentina

I like the hotel, the rooms and the hospitality of the staff. I also like to be in the Upper East. Part of The staff has been at the hotel for years and they are always helpful. We also like Cafe Boulud.

Wonderful hotel , AWFUL breakfast

Sedona, Arizona

like many New York hotels breakfast was vastly overpriced. Unlike any other New York hotel at this category, basic food items were poorly prepared and desolately served, including even a capaccino which obviously came out of a machine which ran out of milk at the first sputter, yet was still served. Daniel Boulod's main restaurant is wonderful, but this hotel and its "Cafe Boulod"has almost destroyed my desire to even go back to Daniels, and certainly eliminated the hotel from future trips to New York .
