An incredible landmark hotel minutes from Central park

Built as a companion to the renowned Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan, this exquisite Beaux Arts hotel was the tallest hotel in the city at the time of construction and continues to offer the ultra-luxury concept that guests could enjoy back in 1904. The Bloody Mary was developed here; Salvador Dali and John Lennon have been guests and the dramatic newly-renovated interior opens a whole new luxury hotel experience for guests of today. From sophisticated Uptown cuisine to the convenience of the state-of-the-art fitness centre, this dazzling hotel is as important today as it was 100 years ago.

Thoughts from annual visitors

New York, New York, United States

We have the good fortune (and points) to be able to stay at the St. Regis in New York at least once per year. We actually live close by in CT, but like to do "staycations" in New York as a couple or with our young kids. The St. Regis is great for both given the excellent location and better than average service and room size. Yes, everything in the hotel is priced at a premium ($15 orange juice for breakfast, $25 cocktails at the bar), but this place is an institution and oozes New York elegance and grandeur. If that's what you are looking for, then look no further. One criticism I've noticed over the last few stays is that all the rooms have a faint smell of cigarette smoke. Last year it was so bad we asked to move rooms. I understand there are a lot of international travelers that stay in the hotel, but it seems pervasive throughout. Maybe something with the ventilation system or that there really are that many international travelers who smoke? Also the mattresses seem to be getting a bit worn in. Time for replacements. Overall, another great stay. Hope to be back next year.

best 5 star hotel in New York

Toronto, Canada

I decided to stay here while splurging for a girls weekend, we wanted to stay in this area and I have had not great experiences at the nearby Peninsula and Plaza hotels and wanted to try something different. I can't believe that I ever wasted time and money staying anywhere else. The service at this hotel is incredible. We were treated like family by everyone we encountered. The room was in great condition with very tasteful and comfortable decor. I will definitely be returning. Thanks for a great weekend!
