Don't believe the photos, the rooms are NOT like those!

Oban, United Kingdom

We stayed here in early January, and were very disappointed in the quality of our room. The hotel's website shows clean, bright rooms. The truth is they are rather run-down, dark and feel 'grubby', bits of peeling wallpaper and stained carpets. Oh, and don't pay extra for a 'city-view', unless a wall is classed as that! The lobby restrooms are a disgrace, hold your breath if you need to use them! The elevators must rank as the slowest and smallest in Manhattan. Oh, and be aware when you get home you may find additional charges on your card, we did. We emailed the hotel to ask what the charges were for and did NOT receive a response! Good points (yes, there are some). The location is great for Times Square - walk out the door and you're pretty much there. The staff are all pleasant and helpful. The breakfast at the hotel is good value. In summary, the Hotel will NOT live up to your expectations of the rooms, they may charge extra with no explanation.. but it is well located, however other hotels are too.

Worst hotel experience of my life!

Los Angeles, California

This should have been called the NIGHTMARE Hotel! I was duped into booking this by thinking it was the Night Hotel on 45th street. The difference is this one is actually called The NightS Hotel. They even lure you in by leaving that plural off of the title on tripadvisor and elsewhere. So I booked this hotel for a week on business. BIG MISTAKE! I knew from the moment I checked in something was definitely very wrong. The lobby looked great in pictures but on further inspection there was no nice restaurant, paint was peeling off the walls, etc. The elevator was tiny and the room was something out of a YMCA. Paint peeling off the walls, the floor creaked when you walked on it, dirty stained carpet, chipped tiles in the bathroom, tiny closet, no dresser or drawers to put your things, etc. Anything that could be wrong with a room was. To top it off, it was on the fourth floor overlooking the very noisy 45th street. I complained to the front desk who (despite what other reviews say) was not helpful at all and indeed had no interest from looking up from his cell phone. He rudely informed me that there were no other rooms as the hotel was sold out (on a Wednesday?) so he couldn't move me. They would try the next night. At least I found out I could check out the next day and not have to pay for the rest of my trip - which I did immediately after spending an entire night not sleeping as I was kept awake from construction outside as well as neighboring rooms. To really rub salt in the wound, I complained to the front desk upon checkout and they promised the manager would call me to hopefully reduce the charges on the $400+ I paid for my night in hell. Of course I never got a call or a refund. Luckily, I used Hotels Tonight to check into The Knickerbocker down the street for LESS money and it was amazing in every way, making the NIGHTMARE a distant memory - yet one that I still will never forget for all the wrong reasons.
