Horrible service & management (disappointed)

The hotel has so Much security type of personnel who are at all time walking around the hotel, and they are just very noticeable. I was a guest at the hotel and decided to have drinks after dinner at the hotel bar with friends. The hotel bar closes at 12:30 and they are extremely strict about it even with hotel guests which I think is a ridiculous policy and a very early time to close a hotel bar in a city like NY. We were able to order one drink and tried ordering another but were told since it is almost 12:30am that we can not order and to settle the bill. A male friend in the group wanted to pay the bill with a credit card and at this point one of the security type personnel, in an extremely rude manner started to speak to us that it is impossible to pay the bill with a credit card and that it has to be put on the room. He immediately started asking if I am a guest of the hotel. Without arguing I said that it is ok and to put it on my room and gave him the room number. He returned abruptly and said that the room number and that floor doesn’t exist and loudly in a prison type way started saying that he needs to escort me to the reception to prove that I am a guest because he is sure that I am not. While he was escorting me I told him that I have never been treated in such a rude way at a hotel. Once we got to the reception in an extremely rude way he said check if she has a room here. The lady at the reception was beside herself and right way said yes I turned around and the guy was already gone without a word or apology. This person the way he was speaking sounded uneducated and extremely argumentative, this type of person has no business interacting with guests of the hotel and this should have been recognized by a capable management team and he should have been put in a role where he has zero interaction or not hired in the first place. The next day at breakfast the manager came to apologize, by saying I am sorry about what happened last night the system was down and that the security can be overzealous at times. And then “we love you, don’t think we don’t”, and then the waitress came by to say the breakfast is on us, at which pojnt I said to her that breakfast is included in the price of the room and that in fact she is giving me nothing. To that she said ok it is on the management, at which point I said I already get breakfast with the room, so i you are giving me nothing at which point she once again said it is on mgmt, and I gave up. The fact that such a person that kicked me out of the bar and escorted me along with my friends who were my business partners works at a 5 star hotel makes this not a 5 star hotel. The fact that mgmt doesn’t know how to compensate and give a sincere apology to a guest that was embarrassed by their staff for no reason at all and absolutely their fault infront of business partners this makes it not a 5 star hotel. This type of stuff just doesn’t happen when the staff is properly trained and when the right people are hired. This hotel has nice rooms and it is a nice property but the service at the hotel and mgmt is awful. Good luck with getting drinks at the bar after dinner.

Pure Luxury

Came to NYC with my mother and sister in law for a girls weekend. What an amazing stay. The hotel is central to everything and the staff go beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The lounge area is beautiful for morning breakfast and a happy hour drink. Our room was comfortable, clean and a great size. Highly recommend staying here when in NYC.
