Top location for Times Square!

Tring, United Kingdom

A very simple summary of the Intercontinental Times Square is: - Top location for those who want to be as close to Times Square as possible. - Great and helpful staff across the board. - Refurbishment required. We had an enjoyable stay at the property. It is only a five minute walk from Times Square for those who want to be in the midst of it all. That of course comes with the hustle and bustle that the locality brings! Check in was smooth, however, despite our arrival at the advertised check in time, only one of our rooms was ready. The hotel had arranged for rooms opposite each other so we were happy to wait for them to be made up. We checked into one of the rooms until the second one was ready. The rooms were big and spacious. The shower room was also spacious with complimentary Agraria amenities. With floor to ceiling windows we had great views across the city and the neighbouring buildings. In both our rooms, the mini bar items has not been replenished for the first two days we were there. A lot of used up items were left behind in the room and these were then charged to our room bill which was disappointing. The staff during check out were great and without questioning removed these from our bill. During our stay, my mum had an accident and damaged her ankle which resulted in her being confined to a wheelchair. Again, the staff were incredible and looked after her everytime she needed to get in and out. The concierge worked fast to organise a wheelchair for us so we could continue to enjoy our visit. The hotel did not exactly have a luxury 5* feel which I imagine it to be a result of its location and how busy it constantly is. I chose this hotel as it was my mum’s first trip to the city and wanted to locate her close to Times Square knowing what comes with it. Breakfast, as well as all other meals are served at The Stinger restaurant. We did not intend on dining there given the many options available in New York City, however, following my mum’s accident we were a little more confined. Breakfast was a buffet which felt rather chaotic. There were enough cold and hot options as well as a wide bakery selection and fruit but things were running out quickly, particularly towards the end of breakfast. Furthermore, the dinner menu was quite limited in options but certainly has enough if you’re just planning on dining in once. All in all, a good stay, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting the Times Square experience, but I personally prefer to be located further off Times Square.

Melbourne, Australia

A shoutout to Danny at reception and all the wonderful people at the doors - so welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately our 1 week stay got cut short due to having to head home early because of the craziness happening in the world, but once this blows over we will be back to stay here again! Ps: the view from our room was amazing!
